Posting a picture of a drag time means fcuk all, too much driver error to really know the facts, just put it on a dyno, the same dyno for each car. Silas puts kettle on and waits for the next episode of the obsessive compulsive saki

Dragstrip is all about the driver when it comes to taking a b7 up it. It's a hard car to launch perfectly.

From a Saffa
Sportech will give you the APR tune
I would rather get a JHM flash though

Locally
Xcede also do custom exhaust and tune, they have done a few local RS4s with decent results! Chuck in water meth and at a dyno day on a fresh carbon clean a RS4 got 220 kW at the wheels
I am getting just shy of 200kw
Altitude kills us in Johannesburg

Be interesting to see what you think, one things for sure, you better lock your back door as saki will be trying to bash them in once you get a JHM map

i have never read of anyone in the uk running the jhm rs4 tune. i know a couple of people have the tune for the s4 which showed good results when dynoed.

the only two people who i would let tune my car would be mrc or jhm, forget anyone else.
i am already mrc tuned but i am going in a new direction for 2014.

i will have a jhm tuning cable sometime in january and i only live in darlo so if you fancy the jhm tune you can borrow the cable no problem.
Be interesting what you make of the Jhm map fella..as you are running a mrc map already...I am running an mrc map at the mo myself, after running an amd map for the last four years..must say I can not really tell any difference in sport mode, but in non sport the mrc map throttle response is taking a bit of getting used to. As the throttle is so much less responsive than I have been used to..

Scag you just get in and press the sport button straight away, that's what I've been doing for the last 5 years, non sport isn't a option :beerchug:

This jhm map sounds quite interesting, how easily available is it in the uk and what is the cost?

You've never been so how in earth would you know? Edit sorry thought this was Silas again. It's his other half.

We drive AWD audis. They are a breeze to get a good time out of and trap speeds tell us all we need to know about the power the car is making. Sure launching a car perfectly is hard, but getting it 95% of perfect is not hard. You're talking about the difference of maybe a tenth or two on elapsed time. Trap speeds won't change much. Further your experience was primarily as a supercharged car making 50 to 150 he more than stock. Silas and 99% of us are not. We are driving NA AWD RS4s. They are easy as hell to launch well.

Excuses, excuses.

The dyno is a joke. Did you buy your car to drive it on a roller that can be loaded up and is full of programmable variables that can let the dyno operator make it tell you whatever he wants it to.

No platform on earth clings to the dyno as 'proof'...only Audis with ham fisted owners who are terrified to drive their cars. Every other platform on earth uses the 1/4 mile or other acceleration tests (pbox)...and even then the pbox guys still use the dragstrip as the ultimate benchmark.

When did I mention a dyno knobend? If you read a few posts back I suggested the op choose Mrc he then stated he was in South Africa so I told him to get the jhm tune. Your a clown of a man I think every single person on this forum and every other forum you've ever posted on feels the same. Away and play about with your stock rs4

Ps I vbox'd and took my car up the strip many a time. I don't use a dyno to tell me how fast a car is

Where in SA are you based? I have a friend on the East Rand who is a Dimsport dealer. He logs and the editing is done in Europe. This way the local fuel and conditions are taken into account to get the best gains. I recall that he charges only R4500.

I am in Sandton. Have looked into a lost of remaps and would only go with a proven Shop who have done many RS4s, since there are so many guys out there with so many claims! I wasted a lot of time with my S4
If your friend had a few examples I can ride in then will consider

I mentioned dyno BTW and am fully aware of the ability of the operator to let you read what HE wants, but the above is illustrative of a same dyno, same evening comparison between my bog standard barge vs a map, carbon and exhaust set up.

FWIW there is a huge 1/4 mile following in SA and twice a month half the city rocks up at Tarlton Raceway! We have a TVS 1320 RS4 running low 12s at 1800ms above sea, so pretty decent!

We only have APR charged RS4s here and all obviously APR mapped! They pretty good at understanding the crap fuel we have and the thinner air. They have a few mad TTRS's too

Anyway JHM for sure seem to be top choice looking at the forums and results....and now that you don't need to send them your ECU like you had to with the S4, it is really a viable option
