Ok, heard from the guys at Argon and it goes something like this:

With regards to a time scale, if there is no spoiler to work from it would add a day to the initial fabrication time. I would hope to have the modelling and moulding process done in a week with the first fully finished part 6 days later. Then one part would be produced fully finished for dispatch every 4-5 days after that.

We would also need some sort of deposit of around 50% per unit because I don’t want to spend weeks of time only for people then to opt out. Options for postage of the finished parts should they be dispatched as they come off the production line so to speak or in one big batch is up to you and the other interested forum members. If I do it one at a time I will do it based upon who has paid first, second and third etc.
Also based upon the number of people interested to be 11 then we would happily absorb the tooling cost.

Sounds fair enough to me. Judging by the weather forecast this weekend, I'll have plenty time to remove my front bumper so Argon will have it by next Tuesday. I've asked Revolution Glen if he has a SEAT spoiler to borrow to use as a mould but heard nothing yet. I'll chase today but in the overall timetable, an extra day for moulding is neither here nor there. So if all goes to plan, it looks like the first available unit should appear during the last week of March.

I wanna be first! I presume that we will individually contact Argon and make our own deal as regards deposit, delivery etc. I'm local so if anyone needs a hand with anything, just let me know.

Argon would welcome some design input prior to moulding. Do we want a standard lip spoiler, or do we want a flare around the centre oil cooler inlet, or some vertical slats at the outer edges? All sketches and ideas welcome and we'll run a quick poll prior to committing to a design.

Have you discussed the fixing arrangements i.e. how it will be fixed to the car; bolt on via newly drilled holes in your bumper?

As regards fixings he wants to see my bumper and he will design accordingly around existing fixings. I don't think he's a fan of drilling holes everywhere for the sake of it.
As regards design, I wouldn't mind seeing something a little different but nothing wild that would spoil the lines of the B7.

Caldy, thanks again for sorting this. As for design I would like the same size lip all the way round not narrow like the seat lip. The seat lip on an rs4 looks like like its from another car which it is . I think if we are going to get this made we should make it look bespoke.

Is it possible to get argon to do a drawing or sketch of a lip?

Cheers Dougie

Could be tempted also, do you think Argon could make a rear defusser simular to the C6 RS6 also

Just to confirm - if interested, we should call Argon individually and place orders with deposits directly with them?

I believe so - we`'re not doing a group buy as such. However, we need to keep track of numbers in order to receive free tooling so shall we start a list within the thread? Once I've taken my bumper to them, l shall ask them to come up with a sketch to post and then we can set away.

First suggestion:

The Ford Escort Cosworth had what I believe we're called `piano keys` as outer ends of the splitter.

This could be a one piece rather than add-ons?

Personally - I don't like like cossie one - It looks too much. I would be looking for something fairly minimal like the original DTM part. I guess we will need to see some drawings/dimensions before committing.
