Amanda, I always wondered if ANO were your initials so the plate had a double meaning Miss ANO as well as missano. If your full name Amanda Nancy Ostrich?

I personally don't get it, each to their own and all that......I rarely look at private plates and think 'nice', I usually dismiss out of hand or think why?

Exactly, each to their own. I think it's quite clever how some people can manage to get number plates to display their names / messages when confined by the tight restrictions of uk number plate formats.

It looks like generally the forum is as split on the idea as i am myself. Its good to know that the RS04 bit is basically accepted as not back dating the car perse, and it is a cheap version of a private plate. That said i think it has highlighted that must consider options for a plate for life if im going to spend out on a plate.

Cheers, guys :thumb:

Private Plates

I had the same concerns when I bought my RS06 plate as its an 09 car but it looks like it belongs. Plus, anyone who knows anything about cars will get it anyway. Do it!

Private Plates

Post by brn7y » Thu Feb 07, 2013 7:18 pm

Problem I had was my mum & dad never gave me a middle name meaning my initials are GB.

Turned away by the stupid prices for GB plates I went looking for GRM or BRN suffix plates.

Finally picked up BRN 7Y back in 1998 for the small fee of £400, not sure how much it would be worth now but don't really care as I do not intend to sell.
