my car has been in with Audi for about a week now, been driving around in a A3 1.8T. I cant wait to get back into the RS 4

still there....awaiting authorisation from warranty company...think they've clocked up 10hrs of labour so far taking it apart, which at £110ph isnt cheap!

Ok, get something from Audi (you are very close to them) and post it on here to say the engine was never changed before resorting to accusations again.

read his other postts...he's a clown, and fraudualent if he purports or misleads/implies that came from Audi, I know for fact it did NOT

A dozen members!! That is not at all scientific - how many variables can there be - outside temp, passenger weight, physical & mental response of person, road gradient, fuel in car,esp on, sports button on maybe etc etc - as an engineer you will know all that but you are denying the law of logic.

at least a dozen, > 50 runs, with the following factored in:
passenger?
any extra weight
fuel load
OA temp
grade
road condition, ie, wet, damp, etc.
valves cleaned?
multiple runs by the same operator avg out timing error

the std dev was very small...high confidence interval

actually it is quite conclusive, my contact at Audi found it very interesting also...far more reliable that anything else I've seen posted...

I wrote him on company letter head, figuring a president of an engineering firm might get a bit more attention...what the heck, I'm the majority owner, and put up with a lot of flack from the job, might as well enjoy the perks...

Arthur, while I appreciate all your efforts, I don't appreciate you calling ALL vendors offering to clean up intake ports at the demand of customers, defrauds who con customers, at least NOT when you do not know of whom you are talking about. I will appreciate it if you used more PC language, because the wording used might upset a few of those vendors.

I'm sorry if I offended some vendors...my sympathy goes out to them if I offended their sensibilities...
my real concern is for the owner who shells out hard earned $$$ for something, that imho, does not benefit him as much as it does the aggrieved 'vendor'...I know, buyer beware and all, but soem folks are not technical so I try to give them perspective...

I know this:
deposits form
their growth seems to be limited at some volume
from pics it seems that they reach 90% of that volume at a relatively low mileage, maybe 3-4k miles...and max out at 8k or less...
so cleaning them, if you believe the HP loss claim, only buys you 5k miles max for $1000...that seems steep for a couple of % HP that you can seldom use on public highways...and if there is NO loss, a complete waste of $$$
now what do I get out of this, compared to the owner?
