Out of interest, who supplied all your multimedia bits and your PIAA bulbs?

The multimedia interface was from a Dutch seller on Ebay - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/170682969587? ... 1439.l2649

It works very well - awesome bit of kit. The picture quality is excellent on the latest screen and the sound is crystal clear. It also acts as an auxillary input, although no control is available from the screen. The seller dispatched very quickly. There are UK suppliers on there as well. It also has a rear view camera input that switches automatically when reverse is engaged. I have the camera to fit, just havn't had the time to install it yet.

The bulbs came from Ebay again . Dispatched quickly, all good.

It's a genuine 2012 Audi A3 unit. The surround is off my original RNSE. I completely stripped both units so i could have the shiney control buttons and used the new buttons. Also, the picture quality compared to the earlier unit is far superb, especially using the video input. On its own, the multimedia interface won't work on the move - i used a Nav TV video in motion unit to solve this.

That's because the 2010+ RNS_E has a higher resolution display.

That's the only thing you can do on a 2010+ RNS-E as the VIM hack doesn't yet work on them.

The big downside of the VIM box is that it filters out the speed messages on the CAN bus, which makes the position updates when you're in NAV mode much slower and jumpier. So you get VIM but it makes NAV messy...

Ah! I noticed that today - at least i know what that is then. There's always bloody summut
Dave, i've tried coding without success to get rid of the GALA option. Any ideas? The Bose is working fine.

Cheers, Rob.

Cheers for the Robby. I really want to change my DRL to PIAA's and also my front fogs if possible. You wouldn't happen to know which bulbs I would need and whether its a difficult job? The ebay link you you say directs you to PIAA indicator bulbs.

Sorry for all the questions - but would you know if the Multimadia Interface (which you sent me the ebay link for) would fit into my RNS-E Nav unit? My car is 2006. Where does the multi pin connect into at the rear of the unit? At the moment ive got a Dension Gateway 100 connected into the CD Multi changer port for my ipod and it works well but I lose the CD Multi changer. I did look into the kufatec option with the video in motion but it looked expensive. Is the nav tv video in motion unit expensive?

They are indeed the same bulb. It's designed to be an indicator bulb, but widely used as a DRL bulb in the RS4. Lots of info on here, just do a search.
