The part i had 1mm took of was the inner part of spacer where when you push spacer over hub there is a lip on the inner side of spacer which touches the end of the hub which stoped spacer going fully home 1mm of this part aloud spacer to fully go on did not touch the beval or face part, it does have the 4+45 on them though, Could this be different because yours sound like they are 15mm and not 10mm, Cheers

I think the 4, 5 ,6 , 7 is the depth of the part that slides over the hub,

it is the height of the 45 deg bevel as shown in the link (4 vs 7)
the hub height is 12, 14 etc.
I see what you did, but they are not fitted properly and you may have issues
the top of the bevel (4 mm tall) on the space is cutting into the hub bevel (7 mm tall) and will possibly fail

mine are 8, but the 7x45 is correct for all sizes

Arthur hit the nail on the head!

Two different bevel depths hence why you had this issue!

Even the H&R catalogue doesn't specify which version (A or B) should be used!

I'm guessing you had 2055571B......

we need 7x45 (it's marked on the spacer)
and at least 14 mm hub height clearance

his 4x45 and 12 mm ht clearance
he increased the clearance to fit but the bevel is too short at 4 mm and the top edge will cut into the hubs 7mm ht
with all the clamping force of the lugs (each one ~10,000 lbs) it will deform the spacer to fit (alum softer than steel) but not for long

all I'm saying is this is not something you want to be thinking about while riving down the road

Well if H&R list the correct spacer, then like you say, we shouldn't really be faffing around!

But glad you got there in the end without much bother

pretty sure they do, but they do not list a 10

5mm 1055571
8mm 1655571
15mm 3055571
20mm 4055571
20mm 40555712 (DRA vs the rest are DR type)

the first 2 digits are the total track width increase 5 mm = 2 x 5 =10
so the basic number is 55571

55571 are all 7x45 and 14 height
except the DRA style H = 16
there is a 10mm 2055571 7x45 H = n/a?

all VAG products
part no....height...bevel (first 2 digits /2 = spacer)
162345712 14.00mm 7.0 x 45 degrees 135 mm face 57.1
162555716 14.00mm 7.0 x 45 degrees mine 150 mm face 57.1, listed for the TT series also in a different table!, but for the RS4
1655572 14.00mm 7.0 x 45 degrees 57.1
202345714 16.00mm 7.0 x 45 degrees 57.1
20255571 N/A 7.0 x 45 degrees 57.1 (should work)
202555712A 16.00mm 7.0 x 45 degrees 57.1 (should work)
202555712B 14.00mm 5.0 x 45 degrees 57.1
2055571A 15.50mm 6.5 x 45 degrees 57.1
2055571B 12.00mm 4.0 x 45 degrees 57.1
24255571 15.00mm 5.0 x 45 degrees 57.1
2455571 15.00mm 5.0 x 45 degrees 57.1

it would be nice if they gave the face diameter and bore diameter in the listing

only 7x45 with H>14 mm will fit, and must be 150 mm face

150 mm spacers
DR = 8mm 16 2 55571 9 (this does not show up in the app guides, think it should be 16 2 55571 6, which is what I have and they fit perfect)
DR = 10mm 20 2 55571 3
DR = 12mm 24 2 55571 3
DR = 15mm 30 2 55571 6
DR = 20mm 40 2 55571 6
DRA = 20mm 40 2 5572
DRA = 25mm 50 2 5571 2
DRA = 30mm 60 2 5571 2
looks like a '2' in the 3rd position means 150mm face

it does look like their part numbers conflict

20 55571 mza4+45
part number 20 55571B (4x45) 135 mm
do these sit flush with the wheel face and hub edge?

just measured my oem wheel
bore 57.1
face dia 150 mm
bevel 7 mm x 7 mm or 7mm deep x 45 degree
hub depth 14 mm

Thanks for your in put on this issue mate, But i am not sure why you think the hubs will damage the spacer, I only took about 1mm of the inside of spacer on the thickest part of spacer, The spacer fitted perfectly over the hub after taking the small amount of nice snug fit on hub and fitted all the way home a lovely fit, There is nothing there that can cut or deform the hub as it fits perfectly, i also fitted the spacer into the wheel and that fitted lovely nice and snug with no movement and went fully home, the 45 degree angle is the same and there was a large section of the spacer going right in side the wheel new longer bolts fitted and have run the car at high speed with no vibration have rechecked the spacers and they look fine and have re torqued the wheels and they where still at the right torque, They look exactly the same as the pics on page 1 of the tread, Cheers Tim.

this http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.p ... pacer-FAIL

look at the bevel on the wheel
looks similar to ours 7 x 7 or 7 x 45 deg

now look at the bevel on the spacer, much smaller, looks like a 4

Mine are not like that they have the same bevel as the ones on page one of here, The bevel in that pic is very slight and my bevel is quite steep as i say same as picture on page 1, If any one could give me the part number of the spacers they have fitted to there car when i ring the place i had them of i can quote correct part number to them to try and get a 100% correct parts even though i am sure mine will be fine,

yours are 4x45, as you noted in your post (4+45, the + should be x, a typo)
api330 wrote:They look the same as yours in the picture and the part number is 2055571 mza 4+45
as far as I can tell yours are 10mm, 135 mm face, 4x45 bevel (actual part number 20 55571 B 12.00mm 4.0 x 45 degrees )
the 150 mm face has a '2' in it 20 2 55571

ours need 7x45 150 mm face, mine are stamped as such
could others verify that theirs are marked 7x45?

anybody read German?
found the TUV doc for the spacers, tells you everything, which to use, bolt length (both 8 and 10 mm take a 37mm long bolt), etc.
http://www.dvsegmbh.info/PDF/einbau/220 ... XT0181.PDF

Manufacturer AUDI
Model A4 (8EC, B7)
Type RS4 quattro
From - to 09.05 - 06.08
kW / HP 309 / 420
ccm 4163
Engine Code BNS

the TUV doc is a bit confusing as it lists our car as a Quattro (NOT Audi, B7 or 8E) QB6 w/BNS engine type

Google translate works well. Copy and paste the parts of the pdf you'd like translated:
http://translate.google.com/

There is a Google Tranlsate Toolkit but it doesn't play well with PDFs:
http://translate.google.com/toolkit/lis ... ons/active

By the way, Chrome has the translator built and will translate german language sites to english on the fly if you ask it.

Well 99% of us run 10mm H&R spacers, so what's going on then?
