Re: My Sprint Blue B7 RS4 thread
I know what you mean Pete, the DTM bumper mustn't be as deep as ours and is definitely narrower as we have flared arches but I quite like the way the splitter tucks in just before the wheel arch. You don't really notice that it finishes a little short as it's under the bumper by that point, unless you crouch down that is. I’m really happy with it, finishes the front off nicely.

More time to kill so cleaned-up the gear knob and used the sprint blue touch-up pot & lacquer I ordered to highlight the writing and stop anymore dead skin cells taking up lodging

This is the first time I have seen this done, looks good, are you covering in lacquer? I fear it might come loose and come out of the numbers?

Re: My Sprint Blue B7 RS4 thread
There’s lacquer on there already, the sprint blue touch-up pot is proper 2pack paint (so dries pretty hard and shouldn't come off) so needs a lacquer to finish it off.daytonamart wrote:This is the first time I have seen this done, looks good, are you covering in lacquer? Thanks Iain, don't worry I'm looking after her well! You decided what’s next or are you ploughing the cash into a property?RSinclair wrote:You have been busy with my old car. Looks really good detangoed glad your happy with it. Lovin to dtm splitter and the bumper gap is spot on now.

Yes buying a place soon when i find one i like. Tho i really want an r8.
Re: My Sprint Blue B7 RS4 thread
Welcome mate, and great choice of colour.
If the paints as good as your saying then its had paint,b7 rs4 paint is so thin it chips for fun, thats why ive just had mine repainted.
Ive also swapped headlights to detango,it makes so much difference
Im not sure on the blue in the gear knob, the same with the splitter,i love it on black or white, and i also love the look from the front on all
colours but its where it goes round the side it really bothers me.
I think i might try and make one,as the centre part thats has the weave go in different weaves im also unsure off.
But it does look nice and i agree oil cooler splitter removed does look better
I look forward to updates

Re: My Sprint Blue B7 RS4 thread
Hi Jules, the paint we're talking about is the touch-up pot I've used for the gear knob not anything on the bodywork: stop scaremongering
The splitter definitely looks the bollocks in the flesh and I wouldn't have it any other way, some pics don't do it justice

I know that just saying any car with 60k thats not pebbled dashed will have been painted......Fact,mine had done 60 as was a joke.
Have you seen my car ? i have carbon'd the oil cooler splitter so just think the mixed weave will clash against it.
From this pic i love it

Re: My Sprint Blue B7 RS4 thread
Yep, that's the best angle!
I know what you mean about the paint, my cars done 37k but still has stone chips on the leading edges of the front wheel arches.
I think you should remove the oil rad splitter whether the carbon weave matches or not, looks loads better without.
Have you done anything with your interior? My interior is absolutely mint but the R/H driver’s seat bolster lets the side down and I'm thinking of getting it repaired and have something a little different done at the same time, may be quilted silver stitching on the sides where the perforated leather is.

Re: My Sprint Blue B7 RS4 thread
I'd have just used the clear if it were me. No doubt you're happy, but unless there's more blue to your interior somewhere surely it just looks out of place, no?Teutonic Tuner wrote:More time to kill so cleaned-up the gear knob and used the sprint blue touch-up pot & lacquer I ordered to highlight the writing and stop anymore dead skin cells taking up lodging![]()

Fair play.
My interior is silver, so I dont think Id be able to get away with that.

Re: My Sprint Blue B7 RS4 thread
I cant stop looking at this lol,esp being the first sprint rs4 ive seen with the splitter.
From so many angles i love it,and then i think with mine being lower the sides may not even really be noticed.
Where are you based mate,id love to see one fitted in the flesh.
Cheers
