Had some work back from the dealer today and it looks as though I may have been premature in blaming the mice for the fault. Apparently no codes were flagged but the fault was consistent and was tracked down to losing fuel pressure. Fuel filter was changed with no effect so after scratching of heads the low pressure fuel sensor was changed which appears to have cured the problem, apparently if this detects low fuel pressure it will shut off the HP pumps to protect them. Just seems too much of a coincidence that this happened at the same time as the mouse damage so I'm still not 100% confident that it won't come back. So far the bill is £980 although that does include around £300 of mouse damage repairs so I guess it could be worse. Once I get the car back I'll give it a good visual on all the connecting looms to make sure but the dealer states it looks like they have just been active on around the top of the block.
