Good news for me is that going to Admiral direct rather than through a comparison site and they did provide a quote which is significantly cheaper than MoreThan for my RS and having to use two separate insurance companies for my second car and lady P_G's car on each car.

Just have to work out how much I'll get stung for cancelling with MoreThan early.

PetrolDave I'm glad MoreThan have been good to you but in the last four years I have had money lost twice and threatening letters to cancel my policy because I haven't paid when I have, misinformation regarding windscreen claims and advised I am now high risk because I have had two windscreen claims and two non fault claims hence my premium is almost double. So it's my fault because I drive my car. Insurance premiums are to account for risk, so I am being charged for that risk and then again for the same risk.

They may be cheap on the comparison sites, but if you like being kept on hold for ages, talking to overseas call centres with little grasp for English and the mechanics of a car, do not provide accident assistance when they say they will and do not respresent you then good luck to you. I prefer to use accident management companies rather then their claims department because at least things get done, no provarication.

Sounds like they've been rubbish to you.

I use Audi Accident Management - Southampton Audi registered me for it many years ago.

Here's a little quiz for you provided by MoreThan. In 2007 I buy an Audi RS4 and purchase a MoreThan car insurance policy with protected No Claims Discount carrying into the policy 7 years NCD. I purchase in total to date 4 years of insurance with MoreThan, each year paying for Protected NCD and in that time have two non fault fully recovered claims, in 2007 and 2008, two windscreen claims in year 3 (2009/2010) and 4 (2010/2011) of policy and a fault claim in year 4 which is yet to be resolved.

How many year NCD do you believe I should now have?

Just read the above couple of posts. They did expressly say that my no claims would remain in tact regardless of claim type or frequency, which if they stick to their word is pretty good, because most companies have a limit.

Well, I received a letter yesterday to advise mine is now 5 years. How the FCUK do you work that out from the figures suggested when I have had protected NCD for the last 4 years?

Isn't there an Insurance Ombudsman? I'd be tempted to have a word with them....

Protected NCD should be just that.......

P_G, does your protected NCD allow only a limited number of claims in a certain period?

According to the T&C's you can download, no.

Wording from their policy document....

Claims for the following will not affect your No Claim Bonus entitlement:
1 Damage to windscreens or glass, if this is the only damage
2 Fees for emergency treatment
3 A claim under the Travel Accident Plan section
4 A claim under the Breakdown section
5 A claim under the Legal Assistance Plan section.
If we allow a No Claim Bonus in excess of that actually earned, only the true earned No Claim Bonus will be
stated on your documentation. Any additional introductory bonus may be reduced in the event of a claim.

If you have No Claim Bonus Protection, the following will apply:
• We will not reduce your No Claim Bonus entitlement if a claim or claims are made under the policy
• We will not cancel your policy as a result of the number of claims made under the policy.
The following also apply:
1 Your No Claim Bonus Protection may end if any change to your policy means that we are no longer able to
cover you, such as changing your car for one we will not insure or using your car for a purpose we will not
cover
2 Your No Claim Bonus Protection will end if the policy runs out or is cancelled under the terms
3 Your premium may change if we are told about a change to your policy or when you renew the policy
because we have increased premiums generally, or because you have made a claim.

So given windscreen claims as stated above will not affect NCD entitlement and I have two non fault accidents and one fault accident this year which is not resolved techncially I should have had 10 years (7 years brought in plus 3 years with MoreThan) NCD prior to that accident and have lost 5 years even though I am protected. So how does that work?

I waiting to see what MoreThan have to say for themselves as I sent off a complaint E-mail to them last night which can be forwarded to the FSO and ABI. As I see it I have not made any claims until this year according to their T's & C's so have 10years NCD and this years' was protected so the ongoing incident is protected so shouldn't affect what NCD I have but I won't earn the 1 year bonus this year.
