Gave it a bash last night and changed my air filter; if anything I should have done each separately but today on the run down to work oil temp was lower and it may be placebo but it seemed to pull better altrhough it did throw up a fault code when I was spraying it on the secondary air injection system. Reset itself this morning however and then cleared the code with VCDS.

May give it a second treatment today.

Interesting PG. Where did you spray the cleaner (ie pre or post MAF) ? and which bits did you remove to get the spray in ? (apols I am a numpty when it comes to the technical stuff) Did you have somebody modulate the throttle when applying the spray ? Are you changing the oil having applied the spray ?

Applied post MAF by opening up a space in the air intake flex hose between MAF and throttle body (loosen the jubilee clip). I didn't remove it competely as the engine would stall through lack of air pressure. I had someone modulating the throttle (otherwise again it would stall) and I'm having the engine oil changed tomorrow as part of its Service

Did you give it a second treatment ?

I put the Wynns fuel treatment in the tank yesterday and haven't noticed any real difference over the Redex which I normally use. I will test my hamfistedness at the weekend and try the intake spray.

No, I couldn't get a second treatment put in before service. If you have been using Redex regularly I imagine you may not feel much difference with the petrol treatment, it is loosely the same thing.

So, I used the Liqui Molly Intake and Valve cleaner, on Wednesday afternoon, did the same procedure as the Wynns one...
Only got to drive the car again last night...
it seemed to Rev smoother, and get on the power a bit quicker I will still have to drive it more to tell...
I have however always used, injector cleaner in the fuel, and change oil every 7500km, and use and engine flush when doing the oil change....
I think all these things have kept the carbon to a minimum, will use the intake and valve cleaner before every service as well now just for peace of mind...

I assume the results from this are supposed to be ~instant, or within a few kms of use?

If so, would be great if someone did a dyno, used the treatment, redid the dyno, and compared the results.

Just seeding the idea in someones head!

Hi guys.

All interesting stuff and something I want to do myself - as I have a low mileage model that's lived in London.

Just out of interest - do you chaps buy the spray and petrol additive from a Shop or online?

cheers ...

I got my Wynns EGR 3 spray and petrol power 3 treatment from GMF motor factors, they stock loads of it.

As previously posted found some rubber tubing to fit over the nozzle that i inserted through the rubber after the MAF, then had a friend spray while i kept the revs as close to 2k as poss and stopped the engine from stalling.

if you look here http://www.jlosee.com/images/RS4/PDF/RS ... iagram.jpg

and find the MAF at the top of the page you can see a jubilee clip to the right - loosen that and fire it in there
