R8 V10 Into RS4??
Danny, knowing how much you have spent I doubt you would get a V10, N/A or bi turbo into an RS4 for that. You'd have to change drivetrain, cooling, gearbox, chassis and bodywork to fit one of those in. The cost of the engine itself will be way more than the s/c kit; it's not like there are many V10 engined cars in the scrappies waiting to be parted from the current chassis?
Apology accepted ice coffee I never meant to come across argumentative at all as I said explored the tt option and it was too much of a pita to do everyone has there theory on it but mines was it's just too difficult hence the supercharger once mines is finished I'll let everyone know how it is in the hope that my car being the first it will help reduce costs for future buyers of the kit as Mrc will know exactly what there doing with it

Hey pg mate I can't give an honest answer as I don't know how much a v10 engine would cost. Do you believe it would be much more than 12k? I was under the impression maybe somewhere around 8-10k for one am I way out? I know you can get an engine from our cars around 2k this could be an interesting convo because I kept hitting dead ends with regards to tt my car

The price quoted at the factory for a N/A V10 was 30,000 Euro's. I've never seen a scrapped V10 available but I can't imagine they are cheap if you consider how many V10 engines have been made compared to FSI V8's.
Like said though, you than have chassis, drivetrain and I imagines gearbox costs to consider on top of that. More man hours in that than s/c fitting + meth + cleaning + tuning time.

I would put a 3 litre v6 biturbo in one for a 700ps usable everyday car. If i wasn't building a widebody b5 s4 with that engine I would have done it to a b7.

A different engine depends on how much you want to spend on that engine. A 3.0 litre v6 biturbo will be 20k plus custom parts to get things to fit.

700ps 900nm is easily doable for that and reliable if you strengthen the box. That is the same spec as my 202 mph s4

Not much left of an RS4 in there, but since you asked (as of summer 2009). Ran 8.3 1/4 mile at that time.Dannyrs4 wrote:The fastest rs4 in the world uses the old i5 engine I think pushing out a 1000bhp.would be good to have details of that build
