Thanks very much.

The end statement about coping with the supension on a daily basis suprised me, but I don't have SS.

The standard DRC suspension, IMO, is great on a daily basis and better than a lot of M cars.

Likewise. The car sits like it is on SS+ and looking at the images that gmk666 posted (ta very much  ) the tyre tread pattern suggests it is on Conti SC3's with litlle tread on them which are notoriously crap anyway. No wonder he had little grip in the bends. Put is on PS2's, F1's or Secret Santa's and it would be a bit closer I suspect.

It does look low, and I never thought mine was too stiffly sprung.
However, the car is no longer on the Audi Locator, so I suppose the only way of finding out if it's SS+ is to wait and see if its new owner turns up on here.

Spoke to salesman at Audi Tonbridge - the car did have SS+.

I can vouch for that - fine to start with, but turn-in becomes plough-on after about 10k

Hopefully the Santas will fare better, but it's early days...

thanks for posting the article.

I applaud Autocar for this kind of article, they haven't forgotten about the awesome RS4.

Comparison is interesting. Didnt think the 360bhp Evo X was as fast to 60mph on paper as that but quite impressive (thought 4 secs would be the figure for the 400bhp version). would be interesting to see the 0-100 time for the EVO and beyond (ok so those speeds would not be achieved on the twisty roads they are talking about)

Find it hard to believe that the RS4 rides harded but I havent got SS+ on mine. noticed a bit of body roll in mine on hard cornering, maybe some ARBs would get rid of that. Nothing wrong with the grip levels from what I have experienced.
