RE: Front pads

Post by iana74 » Fri Feb 05, 2010 3:29 pm

Got the part numbers somewhere, will dig it out. If the EBC don't have wear sensors then I'm not sure what the wires coming out of 2 of them are!?
Now I'm not criticising Camskill, have had plenty of good service from them, but would the reccomendation have anything to do with Pagids being the most expensive?.....

Still haven't fitted the EBC though so can't give any further feedback.

He did say they would recommend Ferrodo's all day long over everything else and ironically as the conversation went on said they don't make a margin on Pagid's, the price on the site is cost price!

I don't have any reason to doubt them as I have bought tyres from them on a couple of occasions now and the service and knowledge has been good.

EBC part numbers are

Fronts: DP41513R

Rears: DP41470R

These were confirmed by a couple of sellers as the latest part number for a direct fit, with wear sensors to 2 pads in the front set.

The rears actually came with some wires in teh box that aren't attached to anything, so not sure what they're supposed to be for? Another model that they fit I guess.

Was about £250 all in.

i also tried mintex but the position of the sensor in the pad was to far up the pad and fowled the spring when fitted, you will not be dissapointed with the ebc i've done 1500 miles since fitting them and they just keep getting better

EBC Yellowstuff, described as fast road or track I guess. Supposedly fine at cold temps and also for track use at obviously higher temps. Can't comment personally on performance though as I still have to fit them.

OK I do remember looking into these before, but im sure I read that the pads surround has to be modified, shaved to fit, is this still the case or is it a direct fit?

No doubt but until they do ones with wear sensors in them I'm reluctant to fit.

you can't get rears as yet either can you?

I did intend to buy these, but changed my mind based on the above as it's really the rears that need changing.

Camskill. Might be postage to add onto the £250, were definately £250 something though....

Just checked (think I got the right parts!) and it came out at £228 all in! The fronts seem cheaper than they were?
Hope that helps......

Thanks for that. I see on their site is says complete front axle set for DP41513R; does that therefore mean you got eight pads?
