This is funny, I feel so north American, I use chevron fuel, 91 octane (sometimes it's less thanks to Californias great laws) and sometimes, I use a little booster. I didn't even know Shell existed in Europe! Over here, racers joke about the whole nitrogen thing they're doing, but prius drivers love it, do they have the same mixtures over there? I'd assume maybe some difference due to prices.
Either V-Power or BP Ultimate for me. I find the BP stuff very good even though it's octane is lower and I could swear the car runs better on that than anything else.
Used to occasionally use Tesco99 right up until the contaminated fuel fiasco and haven't used it since, nor will I ever again.
However, was stranded in the middle of nowhere and had to put Adsa normal unleaded in over the weekend - either that or run out of fuel! Suffice to say a paranoia inducing experience and only a tenners worth at that..

Same here! I usually use V-Power due to the filling station location but the odd occasion I fill up with BP Ultimate I'm sure the car runs slightly better and even gives slightly better fuel consumption!MoRS6+ wrote:Either V-Power or BP Ultimate for me. Thought I was imagining it, but maybe not.

I watched a re run ofn Fifth Gear at the weekend when they did the normal vs Ultimate vs V-Power test and at the time Ultimate produced far less bhp and torque than V-Power.
May have changed their formulation since then but the last time I used Ultimate last year my car ran as rough as it did the time I used 95 RON Shell.

btw...tesco 99 all the way
in conjunction with your double clubcard points it equates to 10% back in vouchers
Thou, on recent road trip to Munich, I used three tanks of Shell V Power Racing 100 octane fuel ! expensive at 1.45 but think it gave me the edge passing an S5 at 170mph on the autobahn in an epic duel... think it was changing into 5th at 150 which won it thou

normally bp ultimate as they're on the way home, but following reading the comments here i might seek out a v-power stop and try it.
the 100 octane you get in germany is great for the price... i recently got 300 miles out of a tank over there, cruising 120+ (depending on the traffic)..... no way i would cough up for bp 102 here though, it's way overpriced

I find the car seems to run it's best on BP Ultimate, then Tesco 99 and then V-Power in that order.
