Years ago my mum had a rear heated BM 3 series window replaced by insurance by Autoglass.

She had problems with rear de mister found out it was not genuine BM part, Autoglass when challenged said "You didn't specify a genuine BMW part"

Lesson learnt
Mint Optic Pack saloon in Daytona Grey (Now sold)
B7 RS4 in Sprint Blue (Gone to a very good new home)
Evo V1 (wish i'd kept)

Caution.

100% fit an Audi windscreen, if I was a used buyer it is one thing I would check.

Also make sure the fitting kit is ordered, this is a separate part number and has the right shaped 'teardrop'

The screen is not expensive, as obviously it is for the mass produced A4.

I dont understand why people worry about this sort of thing. Just go into the dealer and ask there advise, they should have a windscreen company which will fit you a new screen through your insurance.
Job done.

Sorry to hear about your mrs going mad, women eh!
