Couldn't agree more. It's a Ford and that falls well short of Audi.

I hope ford haven't tuned up the demo cars.
There notorious for doing that sort of thing, remember reading a test about the fiesta turbo v something else. There was a sneaking suspicion among the testers that the boost had been turned up.

I think the RS4 is definitely faster but the turbo punch can make cars seem very fast. The Scooby STiPPP I had felt very quick but would be left for dead by the RS4 as the scoobs gearing was crap. Turbo'd cars are also easier to get in the wrong gear for your speed resulting in them boggong down or smashing into the limiter
Top Gear times tell the story and over 4s a lap is a lot on a 1m30s lap!

Still must be said that a 300bhp front drive car is quite impressive, years ago I ran two CTR's and at 197bhp I felt this was close to what could reasonably be done in FWD.
The Focus is a cracking car, let's be honest, but I think for £30k on a hatch back it bloody well should be! If you are getting one just budget for two sets of tyres a year as they apparently eat the front rubber with a bit of enthusiastic driving

This thread wasn't really started as a comparison between the RS focus and the RS4, but seeing as it has come up, they are completely different cars, one is a hot hatch with all the good and bad baggage that goes with that, the other is a very very well rounded 4 door baby supercar! The RS4 is faster in just about all situations (track, open road, A/B roads), maybe not on a tight twisty country lane but am sure it wouldnt get dropped by the Focus in this situation. Its marked up at 30k, thought it was meant to cost more like 25k. Good fast Ford, if thats what you like.
