Do you think I should only replace the friction plate or should the pressure plate be replaced also?

So, the new engine is sat waiting to be installed, and I have been quoted by my dealer a very reasonable £228 (converted from Arab Emirate Dirhams) for the friction plate, pressure please and release bearing. (note: this is a 'parts only' price as the labour is free due to the engine replacement)

Car goes in next saturday to have the engine replaced and clutch installed.

good for you...

ask them to measure the old clutch (% worn or % left)
be curious how it wore

Good decision! I had a similar choice with a 911 and elected not to do it. 2 months later in she went for a new clutch etc!!! Cheers

Original clutch at approx 27k miles was approx 15% worn.

That would seem less than other RS4's, but I reckon about right considering most of my journies are circa 100miles long most of which are on motorway using cruise control.
