Avants are shorter than saloons... so the weight of the saloon is more concentrated (dense fat) :jump:

Hi, also new on here, just got an avant (and btw - I actually AM 50!) in misano, had a couple of Cerberas in the late 90's, then a couple of Amg's, then got a bit sensible with an S3 for a year before coming back to a V8!
Actually the RS4 reminds me more of the E30 M3 I used to have than the Amg's, in character.

It must be something they've put in the water! Another half centenarian here who purchased a B7 RS4 Avant - about 6 weeks ago now (07/07, Daytona, carbon, buckets, fbsw, tech pack, hfrs, adrvm, drl's, pg, adaptives, 6CD+Denison). Guess I owe most of you guys a vote of thanks as I gleaned much info from your comments and this site in general - it tipped the balance and got me to commit. Have loved it for the last 6 weeks and hope it continues that way as the big grin never seems to disappear. Only problem is I couldn't find the matching pipe and slippers! Oh well I'll just have to keep consoling myself with driving an estate!

I love "treating" the local chavs to a big surprise in the traffic lights grand prix after they've been sitting alongside at the red lights blipping their throttles when "granddad in his boring estate" leaves them for dead when the lights go green!

Hopefully collecting it the weekend can't wait. What's the views on privacy, milltek res' and aps remap to finish it off?
my personal opinion

privacy - seems to be done on rear passenger windows and avant windows behind - don't like at all, mkaes it look like a hearse

milltek - certainly something I would do if I could justify the cost (which I can't)

APS reamp - unlike this £400 which I certainly could justify, its mild +25 bhp and torque so the nature of the car does not change - but urgency is increaed, revs more easily, eradicated a few of the flat spots I had previously noticed and removes speed limiter (not that I have teseted that), I would get used to std power and then get it done so you appreciate the enhancement

If think we should have a RS4 Avant meet soon, dont tell the saloon or cab boys though

  A proper RS meet then with no imitatations...I like the sound of that... :kissmyrings: :kissmyrings:

Would we be allowed to attend a 'proper' RS meet in our hearses and without matching pipe and slippers?????? :?:

Only if we take a large dog instead of the pipe and slippers!
