I'm guessing Audi look at the RS brand as a separate entity and based on this the RS4 has to be Audi's bread and butter, for that reason I would think when it does arrive it will have all the bells and whistles and go like the clappers. Don’t forget the intense rivalry between Audi and other German/European car manufacturers for that mid-range hot-rod bragging rights!

For me personally I’d like to see the New RS4 in about 2 years, give me some more time in this one and also we would probably be looking at it being a B9. Engine wise, it has make people think ’what the f**k’ in terms of power and presence and handling has to top drawer without any of the DRC concerns.

Come on Audi, it’s not a lot to ask now is it? Come on surely!

I think the writing is on the wall for V10s and V12s the big manufacturers are all going to stop and go for smaller engines with turbos, see below Audi are going to stop the V10s

If the scientists are proved right about 4C temperature rise before 2060 then within 5-10 years you won't be able to get anything bigger than a 2 litre.

Could it be a bit longer than two years for a B9 RS4? Annoyingly, Audi only seem to release the RS cars towards the end of a model's production run. :audibash:

That'd be cool as long as it was a twin-turbo V10!! :biggrin3:

The final pre-production RS5 mules running in Germany at present are twin throttle bodied high revving V8's with increased airflow to give 450 bhp.

The problem with the B7 RS4 and it's V8 has always been the amount of air flowed through it and having a single throttle body.

Admitedly it depends if the car has the spec you want but put it this way, Audi won't be quick in ringing you back to refund your deposit if there is not a B8 RS4.
I hear what you are saying, and funny enough I totally agree, I just want to pay through the nose, get one of the first and spec it exactly how I want it.

I'm not going to be losing much in interest on the money am I?

II heard the rs5 would possibly have the 5.2.... Personally, I think that's a little bit overkill (or stupid fast) but that's what I heard from a German race-nut buddy of mine. I think the 3.6 supercharged would actually be a lovely choice, given the coupe body
