A quick update.

Finally got to see it yesterday and suffered the "rage and disbelief" syndrome. Basically they have ruined a perfectly good car. All the alloys are shot and the tyres are ruined, interior has been pulled apart and plastics snapped off, chunks missing out of the carbon inserts, center console and various panels, holes in the leather, front bumper cracked in several places, engine covered in oil, etc, etc, and a HUGE number of miles added to the clock. As for the paintwork, don't even get me started. Now have to wait for the assesment.

:( :( :(

I feel for you. Bar stewards. Hope they get who ever did this, lock 'em up and throw away the key. Also hope your insurance don't mess you around.

F***ing bastards!! Hope they rot in hell.Sounds like its just been stolen for joyriding then? I know its your (was) pride and joy but dont you just wish they,d crashed and burnt alive?
Why just wreck a car like that? FERAL SCUMBAGS!!
Hope your insurance sorts you out mate, and dont let these parasites put you off getting another nice car.
It does knock your confidence a bit when you get a car stolen i know my 3 month old R32 got taken and joyrided and vowed i,d never get a nice car again but i did f**k em...

The oil in the engine bay looks like it has shot out from somewhere, on the engine, inside of the bonnett etc. There was also some empty oil containers in the boot so they probably topped it off with crap oil as well. Doesn't bear thinking about. The police have now reimpounded the car so the insurance can't start assessing. Talked to Audi about future vaules etc. OMG! I think that the astethic stuff can be repaired, but the worring part is the mechanicals. Audi have informed me that even if I take the car round a track that voids the warrenty!! Not much chance of that after the xmas tree light display I saw when the ignition was turned on. So it will be interesting to see what the assessor says when the finally get a chance to look at the car and the diagnostics. Anyone clued up on how insurance companies work? After all, the expense in these type or cars is the engine and running gear.

I suspect the insurance company will assess the cost of repairing the cosmetic stuff (and anything else necessary legally, like tyres), and if the engine runs ignore that (it runs, so what's wrong with it? - is likely to be their attitude).

You might want to watch what they say about tyres ... if they think they are 50% worn, that is the contribution you will have to pay ... So if somebody thinks this is an insurance job and supply the tyres, they could and charge OTT rather than a discounted rate .. Thus you will end up paying to much for them

The tyres are gone, chunks missing out of the sidewalls on all of them and the thread has actually split in places.

I'd ask them to show you where it says that.

The car has a f**king laptimer built into the DIS.

Whats that for then?

Timing how long it takes to get to Tesco's?

If there is even an sniff that you will get the car back I would employ an independant mechanical engineer to assess the car. Audi will be keen for it not to be written off as the dealer gets a good income source from the insurance company for repairing. I would take photos of it and document evrything that any Audi bod has told you. As sure as eggs are eggs the insurance company will want to sqirm out of full payment. Do you have gap?
