And a good number of them are in salvage yards already for one reason or another.

Its a bit strange the values. If you look on piston heads the sticker price of cars is quite high. If you look on Audi used car locator they seem lower and Auto trader seem lower still, so whilst i thought an 06 car would be worth 37k if you look on auto trader it seems more like 35k.

Unlimited except by time - and a total of less than 4000 B7s (saloon plus Avant plus cabrio) have been sold in the UK.
403 cabs in the UK according to Audi when I asked them in June.

True, but the mileage is the biggest factor... over average mileage (for an RS4) seems to be the biggest hitter, apart from that, they seem pretty good to me :)

Yes they do seem to be very mileage sensitive.
Catch 22 really.
CSLs are another, up to 30k miles they are over £30k, over they take a bit of a hit. when you consider that the last csls are now 4 years old, 40k would be average mileage and 30k would be well below.
The other thing i noticed is that suddenly there are a lot of cabs for sale. Is that just seasonal where people decide to sell at the begining/height of summer?

Mileage is a factor on most cars but more so on the performance cars like RS's.

The B5 price fluctuates massively depending on it's mileage.

There's a 36k saloon 06 saloon on pheads for 34,995, now that's pretty good value imo, against a 25k B5 2001 with 50k on the clock.
2001 Avus Silver RS4 B5 60k on clock, MRC Custom Remap, Sunroof, Bluetooth prep

2006 Daytona Grey RS4 B7, RNS-E - SOLD

but is it fully loaded and does it have the desirable bucket seats and flatbottom steering wheel?

It seems that if it has these when the car will hold over one that has say, the multi function, non satnav and reccaros!
Money can't buy you love, but it can buy you a well sorted racecar

i agree about sat nav and the "proper" rs4 wheel having a knock on residuals but the buckets v recaros regards price doesn't seem to make much difference eg i've heard of both being worth more!!
wait for it......

I've heard the same - because more "normal" (i.e. non-enthusiast) buyers prefer the Recaros to the buckets, so there's more demand for Recaros and that makes them worth more (supply and demand).

I've noticed Audi only list RS4 Cab details on their website - are they still selling them?

A friend got a 38k for an 8k mile saloon against a 997 TT which I think was 56 or 06 reg (cherished plate).

I also saw an 08 RS4 cab in Phantom on the back of a car transporter with its protective film still on it last Thursday. I wonder how much longer they will be building them for or are these stock models and the production run has finished?
