I know the RS has ISOFix, however I have a non isofix seat in my Avant and it works just as well using the seat belt, v.secure becuase of the profile of the rear bench.

I too went for the Recaro Young Sport seat in black / silver microfibre, have another for the wife's A2 in black / blue Bellini cloth, the blue being a very close match for the sprint blue on her car and on the upholstery as it is a colour storm A2. They are excellent seats, v. robust and the 3 point harness keeps the little one in no problems, she loves the seats.

isofix RS4 child seat

Post by 88wiff » Thu Oct 18, 2007 4:22 pm

I have the Recaro Young Expert Plus Silver/Black microfibre seat with the Audi isofix bracket. This cost a total of about £300 with the bracket, whilst the seat looks fantastic it's a absolute pig to live with, it rattles when my son is not in it and because the seat is clamped onto the Audi Recaro bracket it makes the seat very high hence making very very awkward lifting him and out, i also have to be extremely careful not to bang his head!!! I bought the seat for the Audi and i'm disapointed to say the least. You get what you pay for but on this occasion i feel i would have been better off spending half the money at Halfords!!!

We had a look at the Youg Expert Plus but they are a slightly larger seat than the Young Sport so I sympathise with your predicament. Do you think the ISOFix bracket actually heightens the seat? I find not having it the child seat actually sits in the contours of the RS rear bench albeit that it makes indentations in the upholstery.

The bracket does make it higher by at least 4 or 5 ", with reagrds to the seat damage my car has silver leather and i use a mat between the isofix bracket and the Audi seat.

What sort of mat do you use? I use a microfibre currently but whilst is stops scratches it doesn't stop the indentartion as much as I would like.

It sounds like if you do take the isofix bracket out it would help, the securing mechanism on the Young Sport is very robust like the rest of the chair.
