yeah thats usually the case.. car-finance.net is another one of those, use the online quoter which gives very good deals, then when you ring up to proceed/enquire, they can't match the deal..

also the same for lexautolease, through the halfords website under financial services tab, you can see mostly every car, including some very new models, and option lists etc, but when you phone them up, the first lady hung up on me, and the second guy didn't have a clue.. and it wasn't all that attractive anyway, 8.2% APR and very rigid PCP route with low residual after the term. Good little tool though to scope out new model cars and their options and pricelists though, have used it to barter down main dealer prices a few times as they offer you a discount off list on most 'normal' cars..

Thanks - did a Halfords quote for an S4 Avant. They allow a lot of equity at the end with a final payment of £14.3k whereas an S4 Avant at 36 months would be worth c£21k in the trade.

Hi Richard

Any reason why you asked about PCP specifically ? Reason I ask is that, generally speaking, they are not the most efficient way to fund a car purchase.

Would you be looking to own the car at the end of the agreement, or walk away, or would you even run the full length of the agreement with the RS4 you are buying ? Answers to those questions would drive the best route to head for with your funding.

Hope that helps a little.

Gareth.
Yeah would agree, APR rates are higher on these agreements, although having a guaranteed balloon may suit some people's perspective on things and plan for their cars.. Its too stringent and fixed for most, i wouldn't personally go for one of these either.. but if it floats your boat..

Oh and Gareth, me and PaulL bought our RS4's together from Sutton Audi, he bought my brothers RS4 when he decided to take an S4 instead.. you must have thought this plan looked familiar!?

Yes, it did look sadly familiar (but hardly rocket science..) so no real surprise there....and I really don't think you want me or Iain to comment on what you post here....

Yeah Ian, thats what i though.. Halfords.. but it is actually Lex Auto lease being repackaged as halfords.. halfords must get some serious hits through their website which les probably thought would be good intro business for them.

Another one someone sent me today, as he's shopping around, which again comes in useful for comparisons:
