Right so after calling pretty much every Audi dealer in the midlands today only one agreed to let me supply my own oil! Apparently it’s something they are phasing out now as they ‘want to garuantee their work’. If I supply my own oil and filter the cost is £75 labour and a free health check.
Where in the Midlands are you? Did you call Listers Audi Stratford upon Avon? If not call them directly on 01789 414477 ask for Joe on service and tell him Chinese Eddie has recommended you. They do not have a problem with supplying your own oil and will only charge you a labour rate. Other members on here have been recommended by myself and they are the only dealer I trust.

From Wolverhampton mate, I actually called them up Eddie and they refused. Problem is every time I call somewhere they redirect me to a service call centre and they all say the same thing. Only one accepted in bham and that’s a listers Audi approved service and body Shop.

I’m going to give them a call tomorrow, I’d rather have someone experienced look at it and someone who knows what they’re doing rather than an apprentice!

Thanks again mate il let you know how it goes.

As I've said phone the number I've listed and ask for Joe. The guys at Stratford are all top notch and won't let you down.

Thats a great price. I just called Bedford Audi for an oil + filter change and they quoted me £125 for the labour only.

In the end they actually did the pollen filter and fuel filter for the same price too!

I’m using this oil on the next change, since the service Iv already topped the car up with 1 litre! How on earth do these cars burn so much oil?!

Crazy as I supplied 10 litres and I had no oil returned and Iv already had to top up.

It’s definitely burning as there’s no oil leaks on my garage floor :/

These cars do burn oil I'm afraid and the harder you drive them the more they burn but the oil PCV vale might need doing which may help.

I’m thinking about going back to 5w 40 as it was a little bit better with oil usage

I don’t get it, Cars done just under 35k miles, what’s the chances of it needing replacing? Also the car was taken to MRC last month for stage 2 with all the associated extras just been de coked last month too if this is a contributing factor?

Just haven’t seen oil consumption like this before. Ever!

It may be only 35k but it's a 10 year old car and has we all know part wear and if it's never been changed and such low miles rubber and seals perish over time.

I'm not saying it dose, I'm just saying it might.

How would we know if it’s gone? Is there any way to test it or can it be seen visibly? Surprised they never meantioned it on health check at Audi. I’m surprised Doug didn’t say anything either!

Take a read of this and there is a quote on what to do to test for a possible PCV valve failure
