It should help improve airflow a bit, but is primarily for aesthetics (@FaisalJ explained his views on the subject in some detail here). Each to their own, of course!

Sorry to disappoint Mike but t's not mine, I think I know who's it is though.... Charlie D's is where i'd put my money. The only carbon I have gone for at this stage is the diffuser from beesheppy. I was considering bonnet, roof and boot but came to my senses after seeing a few quotes come in.
