Easy enough to check, get on the floor underneath the car at the back and look for a rubber hose connected to each valve just behind the oval tailpipe bit.
Ah ok cool.
I can't see any pipes and the flaps are open so I'm guessing it's siezed then?

It's still under the main dealers warranty as I only bought it a month ago so I'll run it into my local Audi.

So perhaps it's had a remap or flap mod.
Think I'll get it checked out.
JuSt put you head under the rear bumper and look at the pipe going to the flaps and if it's disconnected and plugged then it's modded if not as Mike said it's probably seized.
Cheers.

If there is no pipe then it probably has been disconnected to sounds better. But if it has been disconnected for a while it has probably seized anyway. Not a big issue as it's not all that noise with the valves open and sounds better anyway. It's just saved you doing it yourself.

Oh I see, thanks Mike.
You're spot on, does sound very good all the time! Lol

This wouldn't hinder performance in anyway would it?
( I don't feel any kick at circa 5500rpm although it feels like it pulls very well).

The valves themselves will make no difference but if they didn't block the ends of the hoses properly you will have a vacuum leak which will affect performance.

I would still get them fixed if they are stuck if under warranty as it's easy to mod after and that way you'll know there done properly and not leaking. Also when you come to sale it's one less thing for a new owner to knock you down on.

Just get the hoses re-connected before you go back into the Stealers.

If you bought it from them and it was like that and it's under warranty just take it back as it is

Ahhhh, must read thread fully before posting.

Yeah, if you bought it from the stealers like that I'd be asking for new back boxes. The stealer probably doesn't even know it has a valved exhaust on :audibash:

It's a one piece exhaust, so if one valve has gone its a complete cat back exhaust you need.

Even better. Can then sell it and get a Milltek or JCWF.

Unfortunately second hand B7 exhausts aren't worth toffee due to the number of them dumped at MRC and the like after getting a milltek fitted and not being able to get the single piece exhaust home.
