Top guy is Marcus. He sorted my car last year as was getting judder after a wheel referb.

He also skimmed the discs and fitted new pads and I've had no issues since.

Ross recommended him to me.

This is true, but I'm in the "screw the tolerance" camp for this one. Even below minimum Audi spec thickness there's a lot more meat on these discs than many aftermarket ones have brand new. There's just no good reason to have this little tolerance on wear other than to sell a lot of expensive discs over time.

The discs are pretty good quality and not at all prone to cracking between the drill holes. By the time I sold my RS6 the front discs were miles (slight exaggeration) below minimum but otherwise looked very good still when inspected and worked well slowing the boat down.

The only real problem these discs have is a complete lack of internal vanes. Not good for cooling. Not sure just how much of an issue that is on track, no experience with them yet.

For those with already skimmed discs and/or looking to replace, I just swapped mine for JHM 380mm front rotors. Cost $650 + $250 shipping but still cheaper than OEM, look better and IMO designed better, lighter and therefore less prone to warping (which was the problem I had). They bolt straight onto existing bells and kit from JHM comes with all the bolts and spacers you need to adjust the stock calipers too, very easy job (according to my local indy).

Link is here: https://jhmotorsports.com/shop/catalog/ ... p-675.html

They also do the same set but the standard 365mm size which are currently $468 (reduced from $595) for those who don't feel the need to go bigger. I just thought why not for just another £100.

I imagine to import those into GB, you will get stung for additional import duties.

Yep. I have been for the intake spacers and I know TAB1S did too. Took a while to get the bill so if you haven't had anything yet, expect it soon unfortunately!!!

I live in Jersey and they hold goods at customs upon arrival and won't release until you pay the import tax. For some reason they never got stopped so all good. In any event we only pay 5% here so wouldn't have been too bad anyway. :biggrin3:

So £675 plus 15-20% tax? That makes them pretty expensive.

Cheaper than a big brake kit though - as I went for the 380mm ones.

If you went for 365mm I believe it's about the same or slightly cheaper than OEM even after UK tax. All depends on the $ to £ rate really. £ pretty weak at the moment so good time to buy stuff in $.

You'd need to pay VAt at 20% plus import duty. I know for wheels it was something like 4%.

Shame they look <beep> though (I don't like the look of grooved discs, prefer them cross-drilled)

I guess with just the 5% tax on any imports here in Jersey it makes more sense.

I admit I also prefer cross drilled discs but not to the point I would say grooved dics look <beep>? All personal choice at the end of the day and as long as they work like the're supposed too im happy with them. Plus no-one can tell when the car is moving, particularly me.
