Should have gone to MRC, RIP
The old Kent Road is such a busy road even late at night that it is not surprising a moped could keep up or that anybody trying to speed away will end up crashing; there's people everywhere, lots of buses and lots of traffic islands.

Such a sad story but sounds to me like they were after the person in the car rather than trying to hijack the actual car.
it was at 02:30 Sunday morning. Still traffic but he was doing a tonne by the reports.

Exactly 02:30 Sun morning, I know the area well, I worked up there a few years back, if I was up there driving around in an RS4 at that time in the morning I would be the Shooting bullets - getting out of there! RIP

Cruising around in anything half decent at 2.30am in this day and age is asking for trouble.

I've been chased twice (not in the RS YET!) purely because of what I was driving. When I was 19 in my Series One RS Turbo, by about 4 skinheads in a VW Polo saloon. That was late on a Saturday night, in a busy city centre. No matter how fast your car is, I tell you now, it's not easy getting away in built up, busy city streets, you simply can't get any distance between you - you have to be completely reckless and take ridiculous risks - it becomes a 'biggest balls game' not about speed - you only have to watch Police Camera action to figure that out! lol

I have to say, if I had someone shooting at my car, there's not a hope in hells chance I'd stop, i'd have done exactly the same - 20% skill, 70% luck in that situation.

Second time in my Golf R32, two guys in a smoked up Mazda MPS all blacked out followed me for over 3 miles, tried ramming me off a ringroad. Again, came down to biggest balls - I even phoned the Police and gave them a running commentary - who actually told me to pull over and ask 'politely' what they wanted?!!! I duly told them I was doing my very best to avoid them ramming me off the road - This included me breaking the law to do so! As I headed towards the local Police station (at well over 70 mph in a 30) 500 yards away the realised what I was doing and fcuked off.

Bad, bad stuff - some people will stop at nothing and there's just as much chance of being knifed, shot or killed by one punch if you get out - especially if adrenaline is at its max from a chase.

Damn I hate this shithole called earth and wonder why I brought my children in to it sometimes.

Might be just the car,

anyone chasing after it would be slipping on the leaking DRC's

Plenty of room for a cash point in a bead van?

And the driver could

be standing outside the bank polishing it so he wouldn't look out of place

The problem would be if it was a B7 it pull a crowd

I Don't understand, if your after the car why would you shoot it up in the centre of London. The things pretty much ruined with bullet holes in it, and is stealing a 25k car worth killing someone for? In a city where100k+ cars are commonplace. My guess is they were after him not the car.If it is a hijacking gone wrong then it is truly tragic but something tells me there's more to it.

My guess is he clashed with them, maybe they clipped his car in tragic and he gavethem lip then it became a get him sernario for challenging them. I don't think it was about the car but hay it may have been, then became a "I'm going to fcuk you up" thing when he sped off, what ever it is its tragic.

For got to add, it was reported that his family have no idea what he was doing out at 2 am anyways so again more questions.

At 2:30am Sunday morning on the Old Kent Road? Probably attending a stabbing cos someone was bottled in the neck for 'looking at my bird'.

Am I right in thinking that's the really cheap one on Monopoly? Is it not very nice?

Correct. When I was a young lad there were a lot of late night drinking pubs / bars along the road, and fights used to break out quite regularly. This is where my pubbing experiences started as I had a part time job a few minutes away while I studying, so I used to go and spend my weekly earnings there on a Saturday night.
