I would also self install,1/4 mile times are ok if you live on a dragstrip but 0-60 and 0-100mph would be much more of a useable comparison to gauge bang for buck. Can it be set up with a car running no cats dp's? Is 550bhp for a car on std cats? Sorry for all the questions but this is of serious interest.
yep exchange rates are good at the moment $7950 is £4645 add to that duty, vat and delivery and your about 6k.

i know 1/4 miles times are a bone of contention around here and i certainly dont live on the dragstrip, but thats all we have. i would rather have 1/4 mile times than dyno numbers.
i refuse to believe that the rs4 that has the fastest 1/4 mile times in the world at 11.1 seconds (jhm's stage 2 8psi kit, full interior and normal fuel) would cut anything other than seriously impressive 0-60 and 0-100 times.

the kit can run on a car with any configuration, kurt jhm's tuner has told me anything is possible.
as for the 550bhp car i have not heard of jhm using a stead fast number, only the 1/4 mile times and the 80-100whp over the cars current configuration.

hope that helps. :thumb:

Saki needs to jump in here....he drove a few iterations and I seem to have the 550 number from what the 1/4mile time would imply
Either way, this is bang for buck

Sorry if this is a silly question, but where does this sit in the engine bay? All other chargers I've seen go on top of the engine

yep i would have went stage 2 from the off but they wont sell it to me yet as its still in testing, but yes you can upgrade stage 1 to a stage 2 for around $3000-$3500 dollars when the time comes.

the supercharger is bolted on to the bottom front drivers side of the engine where the auxiliary radiator and secondary air injection system lives, these are done away with in the jhm kit (my aux rad is already gone from when i fitted the cold air feed pipe and my secondary air injection is still there but mapped out from my mrc remap).
also the air conditioning dryer/filter thing lives in this hole, hence why you get the re worked air con pipes as this has to be relocated.

the blower feeds right into the throttle body. Feeds up from below. Stock airbox is removed, aux rad is removed.

Where other superchargers replace the intake manifold, which can be a costly piece of design and limits your supercharger size/cooling size, the JHM kit basically acts as a really effective airbox and feeds the OEM intake manifold via the throttle body. Their stage 2 setup uses a very large intercooler setup. Intake Air Temps were basically ambient and even below if you fire some ice in the A/W IC reservoir.

Baz4 wrote:Looks very interesting indeed!! I'm ready to get the tts charger but the price is just ludicrous in my eyes, if this can get anywhere near the 550 mark then it's a serious competitor. Sar are you newcastle based, as I'm in County Durham and would love to 'have a bit crack about it' as it were.
TTS is 9,000 pounds now isn't it? That's not that bad at all. That's around $15,500 USD I believe. Does that include tuning from MRC?

Here's the pricing on the competition including tuning and everything else (doesn't include taxes...priced in USD). This is taken from our 'Official RS4 Supercharger Argument' thread on AR

http://audirevolution.net/forum/index.php?topic=499.0

JHM stage 1 (non intercooled, 6 PSI, around 100 hp more than stock) - $8,000
JHM stage 2 (intercooled, 8 PSI, around 200 hp more than stock) - $12,000 (may be a bit more...they have made a change to the fuelling)
APR TVSr1740 (intercooled, 15 PSI, around 200 hp more than stock) - $19,200
AVIVA TVSr1900 LP kit (smaller cooling, ~10 PSI (they're a bit fuzzy on boost), around 100 hp more than stock) - $11,000
AVIVA TVSr1900 HP kit (bigger cooling, 16+ PSI (taken from a customer's boost gauge), around 175 hp more than stock) - $15,000

So as you can see the TTS kit is very fairly priced. And a proven performer with more miles on it than any of the competition. It would compare with the APR 1740, JHM stage 2 and Aviva HP...all are pretty close in price with JHM being a bit better value and APR being a bit more expensive.

I'm not knocking the tts charger, I think it's the best one for all the reasons you have mentioned. It's just in the uk with taxes the tts is £11,400. I could buy a house with that. (North east is cheap :) ) if the stage one from jhm is closer to £6000 then it seems like a good lower cost option that previously hasn't been available.
