From reading up Chunk, that is going to be one of the things I am going to look at today if I get a chance with work etc. Thanks for the Stoke Audi ref btw Ginors4, I found them on there too yesterday and their price was the best so far.

While selling the Scoob and other bits, a guy that came over to pick up parts really liked all my honesty and the fact that I gave him bits for free unprompted as they were no longer of use to me.

Turned out that while his heart is in Jap cars like mine was, he is the parts boss for a few VW dealerships in Kent and has offered to source VAG parts at cost + postage to me wherever possible. I also sold the Scoob to a friend of his and the guy is totally in love with the car (I managed to fix the flaming electronic diff problem days before selling it...), which has kept parts man happy with me :D.

Have a look in the spare wheel well for any puddles. Check around the rear light cluster seals for leaks. Assuming your issue isn't the pollen filter / AC drain.

The B7 decoked with an MRC map and air box mods goes pretty well. Diminishing returns after that. TTS is the way forward. No way you're waiting for more than 2 months before getting one, o precocious one.

/edit: surprised you've not starting looking at the 'ramics.

Going in for another Bone Marrow biopsy tomorrow morning Shopp so if I am lucky I will get to give the car a proper spank to see just how "slow" it is compared to the other two.

Haven't had a chance to do anything with the car today. friend across the way had her in for Eagle F1s all round, alignment and repositioning the backboxes but he took most of the day. The Vredesteins that came off have loads of tread, just not my thing.

Bought a new battery for the hell of it and a full inside/out LED kit from Trups as I don't have the time to do another kit myself. Tinter is tinting her all round next week, NHN is on the case when he is back in the country to put in the newer head unit, Bluetooth kit I have sitting with him and will look for things to buy tonight :)

I have to say I have fitted one of Trups led interior kits and is probably one of the best bang for buck mods on these. Really makes a huge difference at night when getting in or out. Or I am just very easily pleased :)

Swap the (useless?) glovebox CD changer for an AMI so you get a choice of:
- decent iPod/iPhone interface
- hard drive (I have a 250GB one)
- USB stick

Thanks for that, hadn't considered AMI. However, we don't do iAnything and most of madam's trips will be fairly short ones to work so I think it may be wasted on her.

Good god, how does anybody of a decent size fit in to the sports seats? The backs of my thighbones are bruised from the seats, I really can't drive the thing. Will go trawling and see what is involved in swapping to the comfort seats down the road.

This suggestion isn't retrofitting, but for some is an alternative: install an bog standard aux-in and 12V socket in the glovebox and shop around for a good bluetooth stereo adapter. It works a treat and plays well with the OEM bluetooth: it still does the phone calls. The downside is you don't get to control the phone's audio player with the RNS-E interface (except the volume). I've been using this for a long time now with Spotify (streamed and downloaded albums) and BBC Radio iPlayer (streaming only). This setup is inexpensive and out of sight. I personally think it's better than AMI, but that's just because I am such a heavy Spotify user / Radio 6 listener.

6 Music FTW.

I much prefer the comfort seats also. I bet there are loads of people that would happily swap with you, though.

Consider also getting the wheels done in Titan and de-chroming. Would look fantastic.

Erm, 1Xtra thanks old boy .

Oh, forgot to mention that one of the rims has been welded and powder coated, found it when swapping the tyres today. I really don't know if the OE wheels are going to stay tbh so not fussed about refurbing them. As long as madam can cope with the seats I will leave them for now as I really am not planning on driving it until I an afford the blower, pros of the 6 outweigh the pros on this until then.

Madam doesn't appear sure that she wants to give the 6 back to me anytime soon so I may be stuck with this on the drive for a while lol :biggrin3: .

Seat swap is straight forward, four triple square M10 bolts per seat, plus it is the same electrical connections on both the buckets and the comforts.

Once installed you only need to code the air-bag controller module to 0434622 to recognise the extra side air-bags located in the comfort seats.

You can also turn off the sports seats option in the DIS as you will not need it any more.

Thanks, will check that out. I had already disabled the seat inflation in Sports mode. I am a "just a tad" above the average male size and my bones just don't fit in those seats.

Stupid question but I left the owner manual at work and haven't downloaded a copy yet. The 60 rear seat is unlocked but the 40 rear appears to be locked. When I put the driver key in to either of them, they only go about half way in and do nuffin. It is dark and wet so I didn't try too hard but thought I would ask.

Thanks for all the input so far chaps.

Get rid of the Tango'd front indicators if you've got them.

And fit the brighter LED sidelights.

I have ordered the works inside & out from Trups but I do have some of those exact bulbs too so will experiment when I get a chance (no idea when currently :(). Trups is shipping out 20W Cree bulbs for the DRL lights, uprated from the 9w norm.

Regarding detangoing the headlights, I am in two minds currently as I only recently had that flaff with two sets of Blobeye Impreza lights, will have to be a very boring day at the office to make me go taking these headlights apart tbh.

Getting an increasing feeling that woman isn't going to be giving me my car back so the mod schedule may have to be accelerated on this. The timing couldn't be worse but heyho.
