The film sounds interesting but I'd be worried about someone like a fireman being unable to get in if there's an emergency. Unlikely as it is, this worries me.
A fireman wouldn't have a problem but everyone else that arrives first would - other drivers, and (I would imagine) even someone with a few tools in their boot. You could be waiting a long time for a fire engine!

I wonder what the makers say - what's the brand?

Would leaving the back seat windows untreated defeat the point of the exercise?

tricky... TBH I would doubt most drivers would leap to smashing windows.
Realistically any impact to jam the doors so they won't open (which is part of the ncap test) would severely deform the overall frame of the door. I would imagine that the glass with security film would tend to break up but remain "together" so that it would be removed as a single lump.
Remember that the windscreen is laminated much thicker than any window tint/film and they do break and pop out.

I think there is a big difference between a quick smash n grab attack for the seats looking to cause the minimum fuss to a determined person needing to get in. And yes it would be pointless to leave the rears "as is".

I have the factory specced double glazing which looks like some kind of thin plastic sheet sandwiched by the 2 sheets of glass - all 4 windows have it. Cant remember what the brochure says ie if it will hold it together if broken and hence improve security but if it does then all the better! But I suppose any emergency situation would have the same consequences as an aftermarket film and make it more difficult to get in or out.

The film allows you to break the window out from the inside but not from the outside. Useful if you are able to kick it out but not much use if your limbs are trapped or you are unconscious.
