To answer your question Revolution, and hopefully to start cheering you up, of the cars you listed I would say 997 Turbo all way my man
I spent a couple of hours in one a while back and they are totally awesome. Very, very fast and ohhh so well made. Not as practical as a RS4 but not bad as you can stuff a clean pair of kecks under the front boot and a toothbrush on the back seats :biggrin3:
I drove the car fairly hard and was running at 21mpg
I appreciate that the GTR is faster but it's a Nissan still (sorry no offence to GTR owners as these are incredible cars they just don't have the Porsches class) and whilst I have not driven one they seem way to track focused (wicked mental fast though :bigblink: ). The 911 Turbo is the only car of it's ilk that is on 20k servicing no problem and they are about the same as a RS4 on the upkeep I would say. When I had a Cayman S years ago and went in to have them look at the discs as they were getting a little rough looking the proposed solution was the rag the nuts off it a little................ and it worked a treat :beerchug: now that's my kind of repair  You can also take a Porsche around a track without worrying about it breaking or pushing it to hard, they are simply built for it and yet deliver excellent road driving as well.
Come on chaps let's get some suggestion going to cheer the lad up :D
It's an Audi RS4 V8............. what else do you need to know!

Hi Les,

Some great thoughts on the porker - amazing machines indeed...but I would lose all the good friends ive made on RS246.com as i got outcasted...LOL..

Do like the idea of 20k servicing though as those Nissans are on 6mth intervals...god knows how much they are a pop!

reckon Phil T needs to lend me his GTR for a week to completely make my mind up
;-)

Might have another blast in an RS3 to give it a second opinion - maybe the B7's are just so bl**dy good at their job!

The ironic thing is myself and Matt parked alongside an RS3 in daytona grey,....debadged and we were both convinced it was an S-line until we got to the front end and ...wtf...

the words, replacemnt car and piston heads have been banned already...LOL

thinking of a stopgap for 18mths and get a B8 with low miles on it and let someone else take the initial hit..!?!

Awe right Glenn,
Well I have just come out of a self imposed sabatical on high performance cars, I lasted three years nearly
When I sold my first B7 I replaced it with a diesel mondeo ST  followed by a WRX SL which wasn't a patch on the STi PPP I had a good few years ago.
The result............................. right back into another B7
It simply is all things to all petrolheads and when i seen this low mileage car (it's still not done 24k yet :jump_clap: ) I simply could not resist 8)
Loosing the RS4 won't be easy, I know, I've done it and the only way I've found to scratch the itch it left was, well,...............................
to get another one :FIREdevil:
I missed looking forward to getting up in the morning and looking forward to starting the car and then leaving work to drive it back home again :nodder:
Loving having another one.

That said getting a 997 Turbo would sort that right out............ go on you know you want too :jump:
You could get a little Cayman S instead, they are seriously good pieces of kit, have you had a shot of one?
I will defo own a 997 Turbo in the not too distant future, hopefully
It's an Audi RS4 V8............. what else do you need to know!

Same dilemma as you Glenn although I sold a while back, going to be hard to find something to match my old B7. Looking at a few nice 997 turbos just now and there's a really nice black gtr at the local Bentley garage I'm going to see on friday

997 T all the way out of your list, that is one special road car, and tuneable which is good for you, and with some suspension tweaks and the right set of quality 20" wheels it would look very special too. it's where I'm going next.

some nice ideas there...MMmm, who knows..

R8 V10 - epic engine but couldnt cope with those TT seats and a not so special interior...would have a Gallardo over an R8 any day.
exterior is amazing but interior for me just doesnt flick my switch sadly..

997T's are amazing i know and those GTR's are too - oh dear me..
