Looks really good Rick. Did you use a special heat resistive paint?

Silas, I've seen some after market headlights with LEDs that come with the option to have the inside painted black but they were not available for Xenons or adaptives so were a no go for me. I didn't fancy opening the unit up in case i didn't seal it back up properly and ended up with condensation.

you have to warm up the light unit to put the lense back on so its a tight seal, mine have been opened about a year ago and are still fine.

scuff up the chrome with a brillow pad to key it, then primer and paint, didnt use high temp as i dont think theres a need for it

then modify the revolution carbon intake to mate up with the bottom(side) part of the oem airbox.
you would then have the choice of using the normal size square performance filter or the cone filter in the revolution or gruppe m kits.
i think this would be the perfect intake.
Yeah I've been thinking the same. Although as soon as you seal it you'll lose some of the great sound :)

has anyone got a pic of the inlet part of the revolution/gruppe m filter? the underside
There are a few knocking around. There were a few pics on Young Bens build thread. Then I think Glen from Revolution posted some. Just found this one:

I think that would be quite difficult to add into the standard airbox bottom half, the best solution I would say is to enclose it but then you are defeating the reason to put it on (sound). The standard filter and airbox are not restrictive and have seen a n/a Rs4 make 500 hp pleanty of flow for a charged one aswel,

What IM getting at is I wouldn't ruin the carbon filter by sticking fiberglass to the end etc to totally enclose it when you can butcher the standard airbox instead.

I would like to know why the mag housing has to be placed 100 mm from the throttle body. And to know if it's a different size?

Been looking at the forge 034 intake silicone pipes but cant find a UK dealer.

i agree rick, im a big believer in the standard airbox just thought it would be good for people who want the bling but not the heat.
also agree you wouldn't want to ruin a nice carbon intake by patching it up with fiberglass, it would have to be done properly in carbon.
in fact probs easier to make a carbon copy of the original airbox top half.

Looks very nice Rick  - goes with the stealth look - I'm tempted to do mine although I heard also it was a real pain to do.

Would be good to see some more shots when there ready.

quick pic after a wash at the weekend, stil not the best but you get the idea, i really like it in real life looks very mean, covered the side repeaters now too, just not sure what to do with the tailpipes now, either leave chrome or matt black them? its getting rather dark

Image

also bought a cover for the top left of the bay, took a bit of fettling to get it to fit but it does cover up the silver pipework that looked incomplete

I really like that look Rick - I have just done my lights with Lamin-X - What did you use for the tint? What was the percentage of the tint?

P.S. I would go for the Matt black tailpipes!
