You haven't missed the boat on the trip but getting a boat across at the same time may be a bit of an issue now.

Schedule is;

Day 1 (Sunday)
drive to Nurburgring (300 miles) from various landing points in Europe, lunch and a lap or two round track. Freshen up, stay near the ring first night

Day 2 (Monday)
Early Drive drive down to Ingolstadt / Neckarsulm (300 miles) Tour round factory in the afternoon, stay in B&B just outside Audi

Day 3 (Tuesday)
Drive down to and stay at Davos (233 miles) Davos via Stelvio Via Bormio, play on Stelvio pass for a while, stay in Davos overnight

Day 4 (Wednesday)
Second go at Stelvio, take in views, pics, drive down to and stay near Lake Garda (203 miles)

Day 5 (Thursday)
Lake Garda to Lake Como up to St. Moritz and finish up in Zurich. (203 miles)

Day 6 (Friday)
Zurich back to the coast with Zurch being the point where we break convoy; duty free shopping, back to Blighty.

Caldy, Jonny and I are getting the DFDS from Shields on May 29th so best check availability. kr, mac4RS and pad125 are getting the chunnel or ferry from elsewhere IIRC and then we all meet at the Ring on Sunday.

There looks to be some great hotels outside Zurich so question is, do you want to see Zurcih and therefore stay in the city centre or would one taking in lake and mountain views be preferred?
Mountains & Lakes everytime... 8)

Sorry guys, my link to keep me informed of new post has stopped work. I'll be doing the tunnel so I'll jump in with the majority to keep it simple. Have I missed anything else? Do we need any monies up front Dave?

Nothing missed, still all going ahead. A few changes in the party though the list for the Ring and Factory tour is;

P_G
cadly
kr +1
mac4RS +1
pad125 +1

Unfortunately cadly has to leave us after the tour on Tuesday morning to get back to the Uk so thereonin there are 7 of us in 4 cars. All hotels are on the verge of being booked; fortunately only one has asked for a deposit, the one in Lake Garda, however we are getting a discount for that so I have paid for this on my card and all hotels know that each one of us will settle on arrival or departure. AS requested I have booked the final hotel just outside Zurich overlooking Lake Zurich and Mountains; details to follow by PM.

We are also being joined on the factory tour by the guy who is organising it for us, Stewart Miller and his partner IIRC (and Stewart we will be there on the Monday morning for 11am; is there an allocated car park there?).

There may also be one more to join us but waitng on confirmation of this. kr, you have PM.

PG,

Just looking at EuroTunnel times with pad125,

What time did you plan for us to meet at the Nurburgring? Just so we can book the right time shuttle.

Not sure TBH. Our ferry gets in to Holland at 9.30 so 10.30 by the time we get off the ferry and through customs and a 3 hour trip up to the Ring so ETA about 2pm? If you guys get there before us then fair enough, we can ring you when we are there and meet at the car park.

BTW has anyone walkie talkie's? Enough for 5 cars to converse?

I have a pair; I'll check tonight what frequency they operate on. If anyone else has any, check the operating freq and we can see if they can tune them all together.
