Running without TPMS

Post by dools225 » Fri Feb 07, 2020 8:58 pm

Is anyone successfully running error free with no TPMS?

Just had my wheels refurbed so decided I would leave the sensors out to avoid any problems down the line with failures.

I have coded them out through VCDS so not getting any of the visual errors or dash like a christmas tree, however after about 20 mins of driving this morning the EML came on! Just scanned using VCDS and it is 01521 which is no signal/communication to sensors.

Is there any way to stop this coming on?

Pic attached of shiny wheel and freshly refurbed calipers because why not :mrgreen:

what did you do to code them out, it should be:

Select -> 17-Instruments -> Adaptation -> Channel 61.
Subtract 512 from whatever value you find there.

You'll continue to get errors when you do a scan but the EML shouldnt come on.

No pal.

Thinking about it now, it’s not actually a pressure issue fault, its a communication fault. So i’ll see if keeping the sensors in the boot keeps it happy!

Removed my sensors years ago. Did the subtraction on VCDS. No problems at all.

Double checked Channel 61 and the figure is still on my subtracted value of 3331.

No issues on the drive to work this morning anyway so hopefully just a bit of a brain fart by the car after the change.

Thanks for the input :beerchug:
