RNS-E/Parking sensor help

Post by Fastfrank » Mon Nov 04, 2019 6:54 pm

I have just picked a Mugello Blue saloon. This one if the ad is still up for anyone that's interested https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds ... 7/10120621

I have a few questions I can't find the answer to by searching, and no, I can't RTFM because the car didn't come with one:

I assumed that there would be a pictorial display when the parking sensors are on, but mine only beep, it that right or does the RNS-E have a fault?

If I replace the RNS-E with a different head unit, what functionality will I lose? I presume I won't get the nav details in the dash, but anything else

One of the buttons on the RNS-E is labelled CAR but pressing this brings up the message "no options", again is this a fault?

Had a fairly tedious 6 hour drive back from Chester to Essex, but on the plus side averaged 29 mpg, I promise I will try harder in future.
Had the car checked over by Unit 20, so hopefully all ok for a few miles.

Thanks for the huge amount of info I have already picked from the forum prior to purchase. :bigwave:

Enjoy the new car :) looks very nice indeed.

You need a reversing camera to obtain that on the RNSE (camera goes into the bootlid - retrofits are available)- there are only parking sensors as standard.
