No, I refuse to pay. Must have been a momentary glitch as pics don't work on tapatalk today. It's a big job, but if I get a chance I'll host the pics elsewhere and get them reloaded, I've got a load of threads on here with no pics now including the carbon backed buckets I did...

new owner here guys..

So, I've started doing a major service and just wanted to ensure the Gearbox fill and drain plugs are normal threaded. ie. Left to loosen - and not reverse threaded

I've put an extension on my 1/2" ratchet and even after some heat - the damn gearbox fill plug is not budging! .. even with a small breaker-bar.

I haven't even attempted the drain plug yet.

Obviously, do not want to run the risk of rounding the 10mm hex

Same meaning as normal.... The release of the cap is counterclockwise

yep, managed to get off the Gearbox fill plug - just required a little more leverage (counter-clockwise) , by way of extension bar.. was slightly tricky as not much room when performing on the 'ol driveway..

the drain plug was easy enough:

OE Audi Gearbox Oil part # G052 911 A2
Audi Price (as of Aug. 2023) ~ £27.87 each +vat per 1L bottle
Gearbox Capacity ~ 3.2L

So, purchased 4x 1L Fuchs TITAN SINTOFLUID SAE 75W-80 Synthetic Manual Transmission Fluid , as Fuchs meets Audi Spec, typically come highly recommended and cheaper!

Just completed the very same task - Opie Oils recommended Millers CRX 75W80NT+ for the transmission, and Motul Gear300 75W90 for the rear diff
