New wheel colour not what I was expecting!!

I like that colour i want to paint my wheels to gloss black or titan

Think if car is black then the titan they are quite dark
Anyways , so you won’t loose all the wheel detail if black

There's a lot of debate online as to whether the the factory Ti paint code is LY7P or L8AU. From what I've read, the LY7P is used in the titanium package(s) and L8AU is used in the black optics package(s) and the L8AU has more of a matte finish. I don't think there's ever been a definitive 'correct' answer to this question. People have done both and swear both are correct.

Thanks mate that just confirms exactly what lepsons have said too. Although for some reason they have said it’s a chrome finish Which comes with an additional charge!

My understanding is that LY7P is from the C5 RS6 and L8AU is from the B7 RS4.

This is definitely L8AU from lepsons, I had them done when I bought the car.

Can't they just put a clear coat on to give them the gloss effect you think you want?

I may be wrong but I think clear coat has to go on a semi wet Base coat for it to bond onto it .Otherwise it will start flaking off .

Would be a waste to re-paint them though, you could always sell them and buy these. I'm sure it'd work out cheaper or cost nothing.
