Any interest in old RS4 front discs?

Post by jon_273 » Fri Dec 08, 2017 6:34 pm

I replaced my front discs and pads as the pads were getting low and the discs were grooved, but after removing the old discs they didn't seem as bad as I thought.

They measure 33mm and the wear limit is a conservative 32mm, so they seem too good to throw away and could easily be skimmed (unfortunately that wasn't an option for me as there is nowhere that does it where I live).

I'm driving back from France to the Uk next week so will bring them with me if there is any interest.

Any cracking? Would you be able to take a picture of the surface? Also what you want for them?

No cracking. The rear surface on one looks a bit pitted around the holes but it would clean up. Here's a load of pictures. How does £50 sound?

Man they look rusty but don't they all after a while. Drill the holes out to clean the dust build up, put them on your car and axle stands and spin them up and grind the lip off each edge, silver hammerite the circumference and they will come up really well.
RS4 B7, Mugello Blue, K&W V3 & HR ARBs, set up by Centre Gravity, Milltek Valved Non Res & cat bypass pipes, BMC air filter, braided hoses, DOT 5.1, Terraclean, MRC Full Carbon Clean, MRC remap 448PS 477NM, 20" S7 alloys with 4mm spacers & Hawke spigots 66.6 > 57.1, AP Racing front discs. Sold Sept 2019. Now rocking an F80 M3

I’m after a pair of old ones if these are still available as I would like the bells 👍

Yeah don't they, that's why I bought new ones before taking these ones off!!! I stripped the rears down and cleaned out the holes in the discs, they were pretty bad also.

Still available anyway. Might stick them on ebay.
