I've just watched a program on car theft and it gave me the jeebies, so I'm watching this thread.

I've got about 500 quid to spend, if someone could advise what I could get for that. Fitting near Hertfordshire would be good too!

The Pandora does look good, I like the warn away, when someone gets within a few feet of vehicle and sounds a brief alarm, and the fact you can shut down car even with your keys and mobile being stolen, from posts I read a lot of the low lifers break in to your house to obtain the keys!
I think thieves also need a visual deterrent also and a crook lock is very visual and off putting!
Would also take in to account where your car is parked overnight, for instance mine when I get one??? would be parked on my drive I already have cameras on my house, but with a thief with a hood on probably useless, so a bright security light would be another deterrent for me,
worth doing some homework on it to protect your pride and joy! But I wouldn't go for a cheap option, just for peace of mind!

I also have the pandora - silver package. Had it fitted after my RS4 was broken into. Great bit of kit and warn away with all the additional sensors means im happy to leave on the street again.

I have sorted a deal with SMC - £20 off if you mention my username when booking before the end of the year. Not much but better than nothing!

I pick up my new car during the week and as it’s been garaged for what looks like it’s life I think it may only have the standard Alarm.

It’s going to be out on the road and garaged with me.

What were the other options for loud siren and shock sensor and keeping just standard remote? I’m not particularly bothered with the screen or remote start, of the latter, have people gone for this to start the car so it heats up in winter? Can a thief get in and drive off?

From what i gather the clifford offer the factory remote to operate there alarm as for the remote start, the car will start but if the theif trys to drive of it will cut out, as you need the key in the ignition and ignition on to drive of

The car does have an oem system, whats the need for the extra sensor to do with glass? If there is a motion sensor will that not pick up glass shattering(if you don't have protective film)?

I want a deterrent from the seats being stolen but not to the extent that they would rather try coming into my house and getting the keys(its unlikely its going to be just one or two of them), could you imagine if these arseholes do a bit of surveillance and targeting your car/home/wife while you're away, its a car at the end of the day and I dont want my Mrs being scared alone(In fact she wont know about this seat situation). I just want a heads up so I can fly out with one of my dogs.

If your not wanting them to enter the house leave it standard. So they can disarm it however they do it with out keys. I am going to have a clifford fitted with a black jax so yes they can steal it with the keys. Yet it will stop 100 yards down the road with the blackjax kicked in.

Other than that fill the holes on the seat bolts with resin or ball bearings. Or even green loctite this will stop them removing the bolts

I'm going to add something, spoke to audio security, can increase the siren for £350 keeping the oem but this doesnt seem value compared to some of the other offers. The stuff to lock the seats sounds fair.
