THE PHANTOM PACKAGE
This system is designed for the customers who want complete security without paying a fortune and carrying another key fob on their set of keys. With features such as anti high jack, obd port immobiliser, phone control and an alarm included, it really does offer you great security for the price.
This system can be controlled through the pandora phone control app via Bluetooth allowing you to control all settings such as sensor adjustment, arm/disarm, handsfree setting and distance and much more which can be done from a distance of upto 18 metres. By using the Bluetooth tags, you will be able to drive without having to carry that extra key fob. You can also set a unique pin code by using the buttons in your car such as the steering wheel controls creating a sequence you can set and change yourself. The anti high jack is designed to protect you against car jacking (if you were to be pulled out of the car) the Bluetooth immobiliser tag can be hidden on your person. If you are removed from your vehicle, the alarm system will allow the thief to drive for approximately 30 seconds before the anti high jack sequence starts and shuts the engine down immobilising the vehicle. The system will not allow the vehicle to start again until it senses the key tag back inside the vehicle.

GOLD PACKAGE


Security upgrade package designed for the user who doesn't want to carry round a second LCD pager key fob on his or her car keys. The system can be securely controlled from your original key fob and instant notifications come through Pandora's Smartphone app, straight to the owners smartphone. If the alarm is activated or one of the sensors triggered, the alarm will instantly notify you through your phone. You can also arm and disarm the system through the app. If you are an android or iOS user, everything can be adjusted via the smartphone app. You can turn on and off sensors or adjust the sensitivity from inside the app it self. So when a Shock sensor is too high, you simply slide the slider to adjust sensitivity, or simply switch it off.

As with all of Pandora's alarm systems. This package also features algorithm dialog encryption with remote recognition to ensure protection from hackers and code grabbers proven to be un-crackable. The tiny little alarm immobiliser fob which sits on your car keys works at a programmed distance from your car, normally set to 5-10meters away (depending on vehicle). When the fob is in this zone the original key will or disarm the Pandora. If the fob is outside the zone and not detected by the Pandora alarm it will ignore all commands to disarm keeping the system, OBD port immobiliser and engine immobiliser fully armed. Emergency panic button with microphone in car, which will automatically call up to 5 phone numbers of your choice in an emergency. Proximity keyless arm.

Another thing to consider, the Viper remote start system is not Thatcham approved and has to bypass your built in immobiliser so will mean your car no on longer has a Thatcham approved alarm. I suspect this is the case for the Pandora too.

Please forgive me chipping in. Don't forget guys B7 isn't keyless, so less of an issue obd wise. And on the B6 B7 its fairy easy to move the obd from the usual place into the end cap of the fuse box, so you can only access it with the drivers door open. I imagine you could do similar with the B8, iirc the obd is in a similar place?

For seat theft, laminating the front windows, pushing ball bearings into the allen key holes (both mentioned and discussed earlier in thread) and perhaps upgrading the oem siren are probably a better 'barrier' and better value for money than a £1350 alarm.

Doubt it. You have a Thatcham approved alarm fitted from factory which makes it pretty unstealable without keys. Unfortunately I don't think reducing the chances of a write off from seat theft makes your premiums any lower. It should though as that is one of the biggest risks for a write off claim.

@jon_j I just locked mine as usual from the button and it's dead locked straight away even tried with windows down and tried lock unlock button from inside wouldn't open... didn't realise the seats could be taken out of window

Ah - I would expect the lock unlock button to work. Leave the window open, lock it with the fob, reach in and try the inside door handle.
