Bluetooth Connection Intermittent on iphone

Hey all, tried to search for this but there's so much about Bluetooth media streaming and hardly anything about telephone comms. I have an LED RNSE unit (2012 cd, SW VER 220) that won't hold onto my phone connection. Works ok for 5 mins, then drops and reconnects within 10 secs.

I had read about the screen lock being a possible issue, but after disabling it, I can say it is not related. Pairing was OK, have trashed and rebuilt the pairing a number of times.

Haven't yet tried pulling the BT Module fuse yet and forcing a reset, just wondered if anyone else had/has this. It's affecting my iPhone 6s for sure, haven't tested on 7plus yet though.

Well I can eliminate the BT module fuse, as I tried a second phone and it was flawless. I suspect the difference is the phone with the issue also has a pairing to my Apple Watch. Going to try again later with the watch disconnected and see if that helps

Have you cleared out all the pairings in the car rather than re-paired ?

Mine had problems and I cleared all the pairings and started again and has been fine since. iPhone 6 on OS11.1 and now an iPhone 8 it seems to take a couple of gos to pair reliably (I find it in BT on the iPhone and manually pair when going along) but has been fine after a couple of hiccups. Mine does seem to fail to pair from startup rather than drop the pairing but might be worth a try to clear out all pairings from the car and "forget this device" on the phone and then start again "clean".
