Stop is a strong word, but I'd hope/expect it to at least slow them down quite a bit...Mav8 wrote:Whats peoples thoughts on this?

...ditto the emergency services...

Re: Pentagon Supaglass
The VAG single and double clutch locks are fairly easy to defeat, if someone wants your seats they will get them. Though the Pentagon stuff will deter the amateurs I guess, and anything is better than nothing.

I remember a forum member who had film fitted and thieves just removed the glass... viewtopic.php?f=35&t=105009&start=30#p613417

"To clarify I was mistaken, the side glass was broken but it didn't shatter into loads of bits and came out in one large pane, albeit smashed. The previous owner may well have fitted the film, seems strange it came out in one piece otherwise"

Re: Pentagon Supaglass
Ah, my mistake. Many thanks for clarifying.
Personally I wanted a visual deterrent i.e. They know you know seats get taken and have taken steps.
I went the route of uprated alarm with warn away sensors (a common theme seemed to be to stock alarm is easily disabled). Cant recall a theft from a car with an after market alarm although i may be wrong.
A bike lock between the holes in the wingbacks on the 2 seats (would just make it harder to manoeuvre/visual deterrent).
Seats spot welded/ bolts epoxied at Jack Barclay. Not a deterrent per se but some people had their seats stolen twice.
I was paranoid as lived just around the corner from Ben at the time his was taken!

Re: Pentagon Supaglass
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I'd just go for fronts. Lowlife puts hammer through front drivers for your buckets, can't smash it, they'll walk round to front pass, can't smash it. I'd imagine they'd give up after that. Especially as your car has privacy - they'll probably assume the film is all round?
Even if they did smash the rears, I'm pretty sure the buckets cannot fit through the rear door windows? If they smash all your remaining glass in frustration, you've still got to pay to replace it whether it has the film on or not.
