Johnsimister's track weapon!

Post by FaisalJ » Sun Feb 21, 2016 1:43 am

The 20s on the RS look spot on covkiller!

Johnsimister - Good luck with the sale. It's great you fixed the car up rather than it ending up in a breakers yard somewhere. Everyone will have their opinions on price, but if you're generating interest at £15k then that's promising.

I read a post on here that you part exchanged it for a black edition S3. But you have deleted that post??!

Just seen it has come back on for £12.5k on ebay now? Should have taken the £13.5k offer then?
What happend to the PX then?

Having had a year with my head down in various business projects i started looking at b7 rs4,s last week after coming back from the ring having taken my range rover svr round. The b7 itch i always seem to get re occurred.

Anyway I've always stayed in contact with the guy who bought this b7 off me. Having been to see two dogs of b7's in the week on Sunday i went to see Gary who i sold the car to and we did a deal. Shes getting dropped off this week, this time i will make a proper track car out of it. im thinking supercharger too.

unmarked heated wingbacks for sale if anyones interested
carbon engine covers ect
door cards

ill start a for sale thread also for the bits being removed

I think for a track car I'd definitely skip the supercharger. The simpler the better the more chance it will actually work when you need it to. And oil temps are a concern - it's very difficult to get oil temps under control because of how the oil pump and thermostat are designed. At very high revs most of the oil doesn't go through the oil cooler to ensure oil pressure is sufficient to keep everything from eating itself at 8K RPM. So upgrading the actual oil rad does f-all. It's sufficient (just, at moderate ambient temps) for a stock car on track...

Not that difficult as the cars with the MF wheels had a button on the dash. With a track car though, do you ever need "normal" mode? ECU remap can program it to be sport all the time. My JHM tune, too, is only ever full on there's no point in pressing the S button on my car anymore as it changes nothing.

I'll post a photo tomorrow she's been on a serious diet until I get it on a weigh bridge i don't really know what we've cleaned out of it . I'll be trailering the car to Preston on Wednesday for the cage, harness'es and seats then there's a few other bits I've got to swap out i.e. The solar sunroof is coming out I'll just silicone some Perspex in its place. If anyone's wondering how well made there rs4's are I'll tell you LIKE TANKS!!
