You need to get the ownership "details" replaced on VMS. (Volkswagen Management System, it's a universal system and you can search via reg or VIN) Head to your local dealer with your logbook and get them to change it, once this is done you'll be able to see the "work" carried out on the car, assuming it has been added to the system.

Fooking ridiculous isn't it. On one hand Audi are telling us they are doing away with the service book entirely, and will do the service history online in a way Joe Public can verify it in the event of a private sale. On the other hand, they get scared of DPA and red tape and run away when someone wants to check the history, just like the above.

Call me old fashioned, but when we picked up our 65 plate family A3 we grabbed an Audi service book too. Had its first service recently and the main dealer were perfectly happy to stamp the book and commented there was no harm having the book to go with the service invoices

I'd stick to keeping all the paperwork, Audi don't keep the records for that long, think they guy said 5 years when I wanted all the info for my car.

Plus at least the services are broken down to what has actually been done in the service book, the wife recently bought an approved used volkswagen, they said they would give it a free service as it wasn't even due, when I checked the book the only box ticked was brake fluid
