Has anyone bought a written off Cat D RS4?

As I just posted, my seats were stolen and insurance wants to write it off as Cat C as replacement parts come to 12k or so. Has anyone bought one back in similar condition from insurance? Or for parts? I'm interested in what this should cost. Thanks

Can I suggest something? Replace them with aftermarket seats and don't go through insurance. Just bite the bullet, will save more money in the long run. Cat C cars don't sell for more than 13-14. Even with aftermarket seats in good condition car will sell for 16-17

I agree, get the same set if you like but don't write it off. They go for crap money on a CAT C.

I will ask them to replace with second hand seats for 2-3k and not write it off. See if that flies. I don't want it Cat C'd for all the reasons you mention. I know the car and she's mechanically perfect

See if they will agree on a £3k repair bill under find your own repair option

Buy the car back for 6/7k and spend £1k on standard second hand comfort seats.

If you don't want to buy it back, I will take it off you and give you a little drink on it

Had I not bought another car I would have made the same offer. I got just over £15k for my CAT D recently when some idiot wrote it off they take 25% off for a CAT D
