With the flags jammed shut maybe? But not when open! I've stood behind a JCFW B8 RS4 and it was in a different area code to my non res Milly B6 S4!

Wow. I've been jealous that the JCWF exhaust isn't available in Canada, but can't believe they can CONFISCATE your car in England because of its db reading.
Karma at play perhaps

Yeah, touch wood, no issues so far. But then I've only had the system for 3 months.

Kids can still sleep in the car in normal mode. And I can wake up the dead, in another county, when I'm in sports mode. :biggrin3:

The only attention so far has been the good kind; e.g. Deliveroo moped rider 2 nights ago filming the car on his phone, then pulling alongside to compliment me on the noise. I believe his exact words were "BRUV!! OH <beep>! YOUR CAR! OH MY GOD, I LOVE IT! I HEARD YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE HILL. OH MY GOD!"

I had a non-res non-valved Milltek on mine for 3yrs and didn't get pulled once. I did however get a lot of comments from people about how loud it was lol

Jony, police in the uk are generally more concerned about you not talking on the phone, legal tyres, or dangerous driving. If you are not a dick driving around scaring old ladies you should be fine

Depends where you live. The old ladies driving around here are the dangerous drivers.

But my point was that I was never prosecuted for speeding or dangerous driving, it was the exhaust that brought me to their attention.
One time an undercover car followed me for 4 miles then pulled up behind me onto my driveway and told me I wasn't speeding. WTF!

Well, things like this doesn't help win them any supporters. Especially when there are lots of people living in fear of real crimes like people breaking into their houses and taking their car keys or threatening them with hammers in their own homes or jumping on them at petrol stations and taking their cars (all happened in the UK to RS owners within the last 2 weeks), but instead they keep on bugging me for correctly using a dual carriageway when everyone else around me is not (OK that is subjective, but if they were driving correctly there would have been no offence).

Mike out of interest I noticed you're running res delete with gutted precats. Does gutting the cats make a difference in sound or is it purely a performance thing? I'm really in two minds about this now. One I don't want to start being pulled over regularly and two I don't want to loose the option of tracking the car with track noise limits.

I had a lot of work done at the same time as the pre-cuts were gutted including fitting a really noisy exhaust so I can;t comment on how much noise difference it made from personal experience. I did it for the power gain. However, others that have had it done have said there was a slight improvement / increase in sound.

TBH I've got a pre cat delete with valved milltek and non res centre section. With the valves open its pretty loud and i wouldn't want it any louder. With the valves closed its more sensible but it still barks if the revs get up a bit.

I've had a JCWF for nigh on 2 years. It is savage at full chat and will frighten the old wrinklies at 200 paces. It will scare the sh*t out of most people when overtaking in non sport mode as the valves open around the 5k Rev range.
In full sport mode it is brutal if giving it the full rev range work out (quite giggle inducing) yet can quite happily rumble through town in 4th at 20mph.
I've only ever had 1 incident with the police, over a year ago I booted it out of a 50 zone on the motorway at about 11pm for about 3/4 of a mile or so until the next junction when the dreaded blue lights flashed behind, the police gentleman said that it was the noise that they heard 1st which drew the attention. The in car video they showed me was not very clear (to me at least) so far nothing has come of that incident. I was expecting a ban !!
My point is a JCWF is a custom made system, you can tailor the sound to suit, if you want a quieter system have them build a bigger back box with more sound proofing or add centre res pipes, your paying.
In the 2 years that is the only incident though (thankfully)
