Revving high on startup

Post by MarkV8 » Wed Aug 17, 2016 11:18 pm

Is it normal wen I start the car for it to rev around 2000 revs for about 2 mins,? It's quite annoying with how loud the milteck is until I can close exhaust valves. It wakes the street up lol. Or is their another way to keep the exhaust valves closed on start up? :jump:

That's normal to rev high from cold start if you have the latest audi map on the ecu. I quite like it! Thanks Tom.

Yep - cold start.

If you get a remap from MRC, they can map out the cold start function.

They will do you a stage 1, which would be on a stock car. The maps are all custom made.
Or they will do a stage 2 which takes into account any add ons like exhaust, CAI ect.
Power will depend on how much carbon build up there is and how healthy your engine is.
They offer before and after RR so as to show comparisons..
Mines there now.. We wil see on sat morning what they've managed...

They are cc mine now as well as tweaking the stage 2 map thats already on there. As for cost you better of calling them, they are in Banbury.

Costs are on their website, think it's about £650 stage 2 remap. But it is not about the power figures. It will unlock full torque in the lower 3 gears and give you an amazing Sport mode throttle response to make the car feel like it's coming on boost! Well worth the money!
