Spent all day masking and preping not to mention 6 cans of Plasti. Spent another 2 hours after peeling it all of! Than I decided to wrap it. But I used this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/191814211575
With very decent results. So now thinking of going the same route with my rs4.
I used plasti dip on my a5 3.0 tdi and it was great stuff, it was on there for a couple of years, I power washed it weekly and it never peeled at all.
My roof bars were sprayed 4 years ago and still look ok, but the trim started peeling of. Maybe I did something wrong or bad batch of Plasti?

To be honest my chrome is pretty tarnished so can't see any reason I'd ever want to uncover it again.

Sounds like maybe you had some polish or contamination on it, did you clean with white spirit?

Yes I did. And not just once...
Maybe wasn't thick enough at the edges. But literally drivers side top of the door, started peeling after 48hours...

Hi all. There's a wrapping firm near me that does a 'Black edition' pack for A4, A5 and A6 for £200 quid. I think this is the way to go. And its reversible if you don't like it. Alternatively, if you do like it you can do a full trim change!?

Does it include roof rails?

The rubber seal on the top of the doors that tighten the gap between doors and car actually rubs against the plastidip everytime the door opens or closes. Due to that you will never be able to have a lasting dip on the window trim. I did it 3 times already with different techniques to make it last, but i always end up peeling it all away after just a few days. Also its a real hazzle as Pule333 said, you will have to mask the whole car, also having the doors open to properly get the dip on the under side of the trim.
Will go with wrap now aswell. Dip is good for roof bars, front grill and wheels imo. :beerchug:

http://www.southwesttinting.co.uk/ This is the company. Worth a look, if only for research. I haven't used them, just considering them.
