Re: TTS charger install
I think there's maybe been 6 on the forum? Mine was a complete animal, and I do miss it. The power (or rather the torque) was juuuuuust too much for launching with the standard clutch, but once on the move it'd keep up with anything. The best bit is that most car-type-people tend to know the standard car isn't quite as quick as some people think (modern hot hatches will stay in sight no problem) so when you're pulling away from GTRs and 911 Turbos people are quite surprised.

Re: TTS charger install
Last I heard TTS were doing the kits VAT free, so you can almost get it fitted and mapped for free. That offer likely isn't still on though, so you're looking at around £15k all in.

£13k was the drive in drive out price I got quoted a few weeks ago.
Re: TTS charger install
Post some pictures and videos up mate when it's installed.

Re: TTS charger install
My advice would be to buy a car with it fitted
The reason behind this:
Lets say the RS4 B7 value 10k to 30k and a good car sits around 20 - 25k
Bearing in mind the cars are now 8 to 10 years old, and you put the TTS on and you get it for say 13k...by the time its fitted with the bits that will need doing whilst its being done well that's another 2K say, now the cars in the in the 35 to 40k mark
When you come to resell your probably looking 25 to 30k max, so thats a 10k loss, and that's providing all's well - hence buy one with it fitted
Regarding the car with the TTS fitted, the word " King Awesome" is how I would sum it up,
The clutch.... I run a standard clutch as after doing endless research, Doug at MRC swayed me into staying standard for the following reasons:
Firstly I never wanted a race launch car, with a noise/vibration in neutral,
The cars needs to be moving before laying down 600 + BHP, even with a race style clutch for fear of mechanically breaking bits - and it will
Doug's original TTS fitted car is still running OEM clutch and DMF, Audi over engineered the components to do the job, unfortunately they suffered problems with the Clutch return pipe degradating due to heat which reduced the return flow causing the clutch pedal to stay down and the "driver" spinning/burning the clutch - wearing the clutch plate/components prematurely
Check what warranty you will get, make sure your aware of "your" input regarding maintenance, and the costs going forward
TTS SC oil is £110 per ltr, the SC once fitted would be very expensive to convert back
Good luck
PS You can have mine for 30k

^ I recall trying to prise your Avant from your hands too. Lol. Still, I'm happy with my low mileage n/a stage 2 Mugello.

Re: TTS charger install
if a stock clutch holds the power of the tts kit ,i can tell you the engine is not making much torque and power to the wheels
one and only street twin turbo rs4 b7 in the world with 640 plus awhp and 520 awtorque at 11.7 psi

600+ BHP 600+ NM torque is "nuff" 4 me, stock clutch fine for me too
As I am not running a quarter mile or tracking event daily or have no long term plans to change my driving style the set up is the biz for me
Modifying any of our cars its about compromise, what do a want from my car? What do I want to spend doing it? Where do I stop?

Re: TTS charger install
the" Small "problem with the TTS kit it where the the peak torque is , right at the RPM where the clutch clamps up after a fast shift near the limiter , thats where it will most likey slip if your hard on it and because the torque only builds up with RPM you would need more RPM to do a launch if you chose to , i not slating the TTS atall , its a brilliant piece of engineering , but i can launch quite hard at 2500 with my PES kit as its got a lot o torque as soon as you plant the foot ( from the MRC dyno i have 500 nm @ 2000 rpm
)and can flatshift at the limiter and it will not slip as the peak torque is a bit lower , best of both really , although mine is 100 hp less in total its keeps up with TTS easily until triple figures , but side by side in 4,5,or 6th at motorway speeds or even much lower , mine will pull away , but TBH i would have a TTS kit , but i would miss the whine and Huge Diesel type torque low down but still pulls to the limiter no bother

Shame were not closer Roy, make for a good race
Your right they hear your Whine coming and with mine they see the stealth going - makes a big difference 100 BHP lol

How's that pulley holding up mate?

Re: TTS charger install
its been fine , Its the TTS double idler pulley on it , had an issue with the belt again , it chucked it off when it wore through the backing , the reason was the tensioner angle wasnt great due to the belt being just a bit too short so the tensioner was nearly at the end of it compressed travel so at high RPM the belt fluttered a bit and was touching the tensioner arm about 6mm away which wore the belt back away and it snapped , so i removed a bit of material from the hump on it and managed to find a belt 10mm longer which changed the angle , was an easy fix and its been fine since
